Great and extremely fast service. In our business we require fast service to also satisfy our customers-- etrailer.com delivered! thank you

Ordering was simple, order confirmation was quick & accurate, shipping was expedited at no cost. Product arrived as promised and was a perfect match.

This poor review could be made better if customer service were helpful. The hitch arrived with bent flange oj passenger side and could not be installed. When I asked for a partial refund for having to install it twice, they said there was nothing they could do. Before installation, put a straight edge on the sides before installing it, I guess. I am the original owner of vehicle and it has never been in an accident so it's not a bent frame rail. See photos with straight edge on flange, it's a few degrees off, which is enough for bolt holes to be misaligned.

Good replacement for original equipment part that cracked at the support plate after 295k miles. Hitch fit, good instructions, back to pulling big trailers. Seems very well made, well-known brand, complete mounting hardware.

Was a great product. Only took me 40 min.to install. It's my 2nd purchase this year and will always be my go to store for this type of product.

Outstanding customer service! Can’t say enough good things about this company. Super fast shipping great prices. Thanks

1999 Chevrolet Suburban

Just installed it. Went pretty smooth. That fishing wire is really handy! Make sure that you install the front ones first. The very front one on each side is inside of the box rail, and the middle one gets in the way of installation. Passenger side is really tight against the tank. They need to be fished in head first, then turn them. Took me a few minutes to get those. Very pleased, arrived quickly and in good shape. This is my second hitch from etrailer. Highly recommend. Thank you, George!

I have a 1994 K1500 Suburban. I ordered a new Curtis hitch to replace my old one that had rusted out. My order came in on time as projected. I ordered it on Sunday and I had it by Thursday. I installed it my self. Come to find out, I had a boxed frame. I was taken back by the fact. How was I going to install my new hitch with a boxed in frame. When I ordered the new hitch I saw a video on installation. I went back to the website and watched it. Thank God I did. I was thinking I was going to have to drop the fuel tank which is only 42 gallon and 3/4 full. Wow. The video saved my butt and a lot of time. If you have any questions on installation take 10 minutes and watch the video. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Awesome.

Ordered this receiver on a Friday afternoon. And received it the next Tuesday. Great price and free shipping, can't beat that.

I put the receiver on in about 20 minutes. Hardware was excellent. It is a bit heavy so if you have an extra set of hands available don't hesitate to use them. But you can get it on yourself.

The quality of the product is great. Nice heavy duty piece with a nice paint job!

I also installed the 7 pin wiring kit and picked up our camper! Everything worked perfect!!

Highly recommend this receiver!!!

2000 Chevrolet Tahoe

Bought my Tahoe with a rather sketchy universal hitch on it that hung down about 6 inches lower than it needed to. Was thrilled to find this class IV replacement hitch with a 1000 lb tongue weight capacity at a good price, and shipping was quick too. Installation was easy, and it's done a great job of carrying my KTM around on a hitch hauler ever since.

1997 GMC Suburban

The receiver did not fit on my stock 1997 K1500 Suburban. The holes aligned but the spacing between brackets was too narrow by about 1/2” to allow flush fit with the frame. Calls were made, pictures sent and after several days I received a phone message from a technician suggesting I attempt to spread the brackets apart with a scissor jack and a 2x4. After several attempts, this etrailer.com-authorized method eventually spread the brackets enough to fit. This is far more hassle than should be required. The receiver seems to be a good build quality but simply did not fit out of the box and required significant mechanical advantage to force into a condition for proper fit.

The technician also suggested the receiver might have been bent in shipping but I don’t believe this to be so. The box, which I still have, appeared to be undamaged. All in all, not the easy installation experience I expected.

The hitch receivers are made of mild steel that flexes over potholes and road debris. They can get knocked out of alignment even if the box does not appear to be damaged. Here is a help article explaining more:

It will be my first choice when I need another one and I would recommend it to anybody needing a receiver hitch.

I ordered a hitch for my 1999 Suburban. The shipping was very fast and it was a great deal. After watching a video on how to install it on a box frame, it was done in less than an hour by myself. I have had the hitch on for about a year now and it still looks great and works great. Thanks for the great service and I will pass on your website to others.

by:

After a year of using this hitch, all I can say is it works great. I pulled off the crusty OEM one that came on my truck and installed this. It fit without much fiddling and the great news is the black finish remains without rust. That's saying something!

by:
1993 Chevrolet Suburban

The hitch looks to be well made. It was an exact fit for my 1993 chevy 2500 suburban and I put it on in less than an hour. The guy that thought up the fish wire should be paid royalties. That little device saved me countless hours of frustration. This was my first purchase at etrailer, and won't be my last.

by:

I was received the day it was promised. Super fast shipping and that helped a tremendous amount because I was needing the hitch in a hurry due to finding the one I had broken. The hitch went on without a hitch! It actually looked better than I thought and it looked a whole lot better than my bent one. Overall this company has great products, great prices and super fast shipping,! I will be buying from these folks again!

The hitch and The brake controller That I purchased am very satisfied with.
No problems installing Them.

Just exactly what I needed, perfect fit, took 20 minutes to install (including removing my old hitch!) No drilling needed. Needed a beefier hitch to tow the new boat, this is spot on.

by:

Timely shipping, good finish quality. Instructions were simple and the product was installed without any issues. Overall a good experience.

  • Trailer Hitches and Wiring for a 1993 Chevy 1500 Truck and 1999 Chevy Suburban
You would not be able to move a trailer hitch back and forth between the 1999 Suburban and 1993 Chevy 1500 because the hitches are different between these vehicles and are not interchangeable. Also, you would have to get new hardware every time. The hardware is meant to only be torqued down once and not reused. For the 1999 Chevy Suburban the most popular hitch is # C14029. For the truck the most popular option (for models with standard or step bumper) is # C14081. The recommended ball...

We do not have a single kit/product with all the towing components you'll need to tow a trailer with brakes with your 1995 Chevrolet Suburban 4X4 K2500 with 7.4L engine but we can still get you all set. To wire a trailer brake controller such as the tried-and-true Prodigy P2 # 90885 in your Suburban you will need only a 4-pole wiring harness (either an existing factory one or you can use # C55319) and our Brake Controller Install Kit # ETBC7. Since you referenced 3 trailer hitches that fit your son's 1994 GMC Yukon I believe you are referring to the Curt options. The main difference between all 3 options is that each one has different gross towing weight (GTW) and tongue weight (TW) weight ratings: Curt Class III - # C13121 500 lbs TW/5,000 lbs GTW Curt Class III - # C13029 600 lbs TW/6,000 lbs GTW Curt Class IV - # C14029 1,000 lbs TW/10,000 lbs GTW When I looked up the max trailer weight rating for a '94 Yukon it looked...

  • Is a Weight Distribution System Needed for a 6,000 lb Trailer with a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K1500
Yes, if the towing capacity of your 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 is indeed 6,000 lbs then using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C14029 will allow you to safely tow this much without a weight distribution system. The trailer hitch and vehicle are both tested separately of one another so the ratings do not necessarily coincide. The lower of the two will always need to be the figure you abide by. I have attached an install video for you as well.

Meaning, if your hitch can haul 10,000 GTW but with a weight distribution set up it can haul 12,000 GTW then you would want to get a weight distribution set up for 12,000.
