The Curt Hitch part # C13146 that you referenced will fit the 2016 Acura MDX with and without the rear sport bumper trim so it will work for you.

For trailer wiring you would want the part # 118628.

If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

the Curt 13146 DOES NOT FIT the 2016 MDX. The bolts that come with it are 16 mm, where as 14mm bolts are required. I ordered it and had to return it. Another one was sent and I had to return it also.

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C13146 is confirmed to fit your 2016 Acura MDX. I verified this with Curt. Sometimes when the included bolts seem to big, the factory weld nuts on the frame rails just need to be cleaned out. I linked an article on exactly this subject below.
