Can Ball Mount Be Used in Rise as Well As in the Drop Position

Can you use a ball mount either way. right side up or down? Thanks.

If you're speaking of a ball mount that would be used in a 2 inch Class III, IV or a 2-1/2 inch Class V hitch, then yes the ball mount can be used in either the rise or the drop position. With a 1-1/4 inch Class I or II hitch, it'll usually stipulate in the hitch instructions that the ball mount should be used in the rise position only.

With the Curt Class III hitch you referenced, the ball mount could be used in either the rise or drop position. I'll link you to our FAQ article that shows how to measure to find out the rise or drop of ball mount that's needed.
