Will B&W Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 3" Hitches Fit with a Smaller Hitch Receiver

Question:
Can I use this for a truck that has a 2" or 2.5" hitch? Or can this only be used for a 3" hitch?

The Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 3" Hitches # BW23FR has a 5/8" diameter so it can be used for 2", 2-1/2", and 3" trailer hitch receivers. The 3-1/8" span makes it fit with up to 3" hitches though, which is why we have it listed as that.
