Made for the off-roader who is always heading into unfamilar terrian, these heavy-duty, reinforced nylon boards have alloy teeth that provide a stronger tire grip than typical recovery teeth. And the teeth are replaceable if they happen to break.
Features:
Specs:
Note: Not recommended for normal highway tires since the tread is too narrow and shallow to properly engage with the traction teeth.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at these MAXTRAX XTREME Recovery Boards. Now, these two gunmetal gray, heavy-duty recovery boards are going to provide faster traction when your tires are bogged down in the snow, the slush, the sand, or mud, and the rows of anodized aluminum traction teeth provide a surface that your tires can grip onto. The alloy construction creates faster, more secure tread engagement, and they're anodized to help prevent corrosion in extreme environments. Now, taking a closer look here, as you can see, this is, as I mentioned earlier, in a gunmetal gray color, so it's a very attractive dark gray color.
And just to give you some overall measurements, from end to end, the overall length, we're sitting right at 45 inches long, the overall width from end to end, 13 inches wide, and then the overall height were about three inches tall. Now, what's nice about these boards is that when you're ready to store them or put them away, they are going to nest together just like that. So as you can see, they're not going to take up a whole lot of space, which is really nice. And then when you're ready to use them, you can just remove one from the other and they're going to be ready to go for you. Now, the UV stabilized fiber-reinforced nylon construction makes these boards lightweight and yet strong, and they are light enough to haul in and out of your vehicle.
Each board weighs about 10 pounds, but they're heavy duty enough to bear the full weight of your vehicle without braking. Now, flipping this one over, I wanted to show you that either end of the board, when you turn this upside down, can be used as a shovel. And you probably can't see it through the camera, but it's actually identified here as a shovel, this portion, so either end can act as a shovel to remove excess earth to help you get unstuck quicker. And then going back overhead, let me see if I can line these up for you here again. These do have handles, so let me bring this back into frame here.
And so on each side of the board, we have three handles that's going to allow you to easily transport these boards but also allow you to easily retrieve them as well when you are done using them. And then these boards also include these two leashes. I have them bundled up here to save me some room on my table, but you're going to actually get two leashes and what you can do with these is if you're gonna be using these boards in terrain that you know, these could possibly get easily buried. You can wrap a leash around one of the boards and then when you're done getting your vehicle unstuck and if your board is buried, you can just use that leash to easily pull that board out of that, that terrain. The leashes, as you can see, are bright orange, so they're gonna be very visible.
And another feature I wanted to point out is each of these boards have these keyhole accessory points to allow you to securely mount the boards. And if you're gonna be mounting these on the outside of your vehicle, we do also offer locks from MAXTRAX that can be used to secure these boards to your vehicle. So you can find those locks on the related product section on this product page. These do have a lifetime warranty from MAXTRAX, and there are other color options and sizes and types of these boards available, so if this isn't necessarily what you're looking for or if this isn't the color you're looking for exactly, take a look at the other options from MAXTRAX that we offer here at etrailer.com. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Great product and service.
Super serviced fast shipping
Love the versatility of this product. Light weight, works as a shovel and gets the job done. Bought 3 sets for our fleet and I know there will be minimal of 3 more pair.
After 1 year of use they are holding up and doing their job. Would buy again
Great product. Hope I don't have to use it. Bought them since my 2-wheel drive with street tires doesn't get the traction like a 4WD. Twice, even with locking differential I have not been able to get enough traction due to the light weight of the rear end of the truck when it is not loaded.
Sometimes I do use them to raise the truck a few inches to make it easier to use my creeper, e.g., when changing the oil.
Overall construction of the product appears to be rugged compared to other recovery boards. I have not had the opportunity to utilize the boards at this time.
Super fast shipping!
An interesting thing happens when you drive into the wilderness alone. You start to realize all the ways you might get stuck and never get back out. I like my family, so I want to make sure I can get home.
Recently I ended up in an icy muddy field where dozens of very capable trucks and Jeeps couldnt get out. The mud was too deep, the snow and ice too slick.
I didn't get stuck, lets not be ridiculous, I drive a monster truck... I spent my day pulling the trucks and Jeeps out.
Pulling a dozen different trucks out helped me see a dozen ways to get stuck. And I decided recovery boards were something I need to add to my vehicle. So I went with these.
It is best to make sure you know how to use recovery gear. So I purposely buried my 4Runner into a huge snow pile. It took some digging to clear the area to get them in place, and a few tries of going back and forth to get through it. I was massively high centered, and pushing a wall of snow and ice. And slipped off the side of the recovery board a couple times.
After about 20 minutes of working at it we got out.
I probably will add 2 more. If I had one on all 4 wheels it would have been much simpler to get out because as one wheel lost grip the other would still have it as the suspension stretched and compressed.
Always new fun things to try and lots to learn!
Awesome and heavy duty as advertised!

It was certainly fun to watch! The boards did the trick once you got them where they needed to be.
