Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: CIPA Clamp-On HotSpot Mirror

Today, were going to review part number CM49504. This is the CIPA Clamp-On, HotSpot Mirror, 4-inch x 8-inch convex mirror. This mirror comes with a convex design mirror, as you can see. It will help to prevent blind spots when youre passing or changing lanes. It does come with an adjustable clamp on the back here, and it will attach to a round mirror bracket that youll see on vehicles where the mirrors are extended out from the vehicle. Therell be round brackets that come out.

This will attach to that round bracket right next to your regular mirror. It will rotate for horizontal or vertical application; and when mounted correctly, it will obstruct none of the view for your original equipment mirror. This is a universal design. It will fit most cars and trucks. Again, I mentioned, you see it is a convex glass, and again the measurements on this will be 8 inches long by 4 inches tall.

It does come with a one-year limited warranty. That should do it for part number CM49504.

Hello,
Yes you can use my install
for feedback.
Only thing is I should have checked to see if you had not sure what they are called but “ brackets “ that go around bars for mirror mount would be nice to have a choice of size. Hard to find and would have saved me shipping and made a bigger sale.
??Maybe you could put a pop up
“ wait before you go, have you considered mounting hardware? What size pipe are you going to mount mirror to? “??
Anyway here is mine.
I Needed to put extension mirrors and wanted square ones to match and found them on your site. I still need to figure out one mount need like a 3” arm and a 1-1/2” and 1” clamps to stabilize passenger mirror.
Two things I didn’t like was..
1, the loose mirrors inside the plastic housing probably going to just put clear silicone on edges.
2, the sticker ....
“ objects in mirrors are closer than they appear “
has glue that’s hard to remove and leaves a residue. Cling on label would have been better.

I mounted these mirrors on our Winnebago Ford E350 chassis. It has the standard Velvac mirrors with the stick-on blind spot mirrors. The stick-ons used up a lot of my flat glass real estate, making it harder to see behind us. To upgrade the Velvacs would have cost a few hundred dollars. Over a two week period I devised a couple of mounting solutions. I bought two 5/16" ubolts to mount onto the mirror arms. The radius was large enough I used fuel line to pad and insulate the ubolts. One thing I appreciate about these mirrors are the wrench flats on the 1/4" stud and the fact that the tension can be adjusted on the ball joint. etrailer good service as usual.

I liked this mirror so well on the driver's side, I ordered a second one for the passenger side of my '06 Dodge Sprinter View. Now I have a good side View on both sides of my View! etrailer is a Rock Star!

by:

I needed a spot mirror that would eliminate a blind spot. I mounted this mirror under the original mirror on the mirror arm. Fit perfectly and only took 1 minute to install.

This is a fairly priced, high quality, well made Glass Convex Wide Angle View Mirror in a Thick Black ABS Plastic Case with a Plated 360 Degree Adjustable Steel Mounting Bracket. Perfect “safer vision addition” to the existing bracket mounted Flat View Mirrors on my RV Motorhome. Very satisfied.

by:

Just what I needed.

by:

The mirror was exactly as described. Fast shipping.

This was not what I was expecting. I wanted a clamp on mirror for rental boats and I am going to have to rig this thing to fit or toss it. I guess I should have looked into it a little more...

Thank you for your review. I believe you are looking for a clamp on boat mirror like part CM01877.

by:

I have found this product to very good. It is a very good quality mirror. Although I might be using it for a slight different purpose than most folks. I modified it and mounted it to a used paint roller handle. Now whenever I feel the need to check my rain gutters on my house I just screw on a painters pole and check all the gutters without having to use a ladder. It has survived being bounced off of the roof, multiple times. I am very happy and recommend to anybody that needs a convex mirror.

by:

Good quality mirror. Bought to replace broken hitch ball finder mirror.

by:

Big enough to see, I hate tiny blind spot mirrors

by:

The convex mirrors were better than described and very reasonable. Shipping was quick and they were double packed in the box. I'm very happy and they fit perfectly. Thanks again.

Working great. Still clear

Mounted to arm of stock mirror on 2003 E450 Class C motorhome using 1 1/2" u-bolt clamp and spacer. Discarded clamp that came with mirror.

by:

Installed on my Kubota B1550dt loader tractor so I can see better when backing up. Maybe ordering another for my other Kubota tractor when I come up with a way to mount it. Seems like a good mirror for the low price.

by:

I used this mirror to replace the broken one on my hitchfinder. It fit perfectly and now I can connect to the trailers without a spotter.

by:

We installed these as replacement mirrors for our older model Nissan forklifts. They are just what we were looking for. Thanks for the quick shipment.

by:

GReat product and better service

by:

Nice large convex mirror. I still have to mount it as it does not fit my vehicle but I'm sure it will work great. Under someone's comments tell you how to do in on a mini Winnie.

by:

Good price and fast delivery. Will use it as a rear view mirror for the boat while towing skiers.

by:

Love this mirror! We put it on a 17' Scout boat to be able to see behind us. And we can see to the left and to the right if we have a skier. It works great!

by:

Items as advertised, fast shipping and great communication with customer service.
Not yet install have to do some modes.

by:

So Far Great mirror. Wish it came in white as I had to paint mine. Also took about a week to arrive.

by:

Perfect for my need, a wide angle mirror so my boat is legal for pulling a wakesurfer when I don't have a third person as a spotter.

by:

I can see again! Definitely better than getting out, and looking to see what I might run over. Too many squirrels died while waiting for its delivery. A true life saver!

by:

Still on my tahoe and doing a good job

  • Would CIPA Clamp On Mirror CM49504 Fit Semi West Coast Mirror
All I can really say is that the mirror part # CM49504 that you referenced measures 4 inches tall and 8 inches long. When mounted properly it's designed not to obstruct the view of the original mirror of the vehicle. The CIPA clamp-on mirror, # CM49504, is designed to clamp to a round mirror bracket on a factory mirror. I looked up your mirrors and these should work fine on them.

  • Blind Spot Mirror Recommendation for 2001 Gulfstream
The closest stick-on blind spot mirror we offer is the CIPA part # 49402 which is 4 inch by 5-1/2 inch. There's no way to remove any portion of the # CM49504 so that it could be glued on to your mirror.

  • CIPA Clamp-On Hotspot Bar Diameter Compatibility
The CIPA Clamp-On HotSpot Mirror - 4" x 8" - Convex # CM49504 is designed to fit on bars about 3/4 inch in diameter. There is adjustability so you can fit on bars slightly larger.

  • Clamp On Blind Spot Mirror For Ford E450 Econoline Coachmen Motorhome
I have a mirror option for you, but I spoke with my contact at CIPA about the CIPA Clamp-On HotSpot Mirror # CM49504 and she said the # CM49504 is not designed clamp onto a mirror housing, and there is no adapter or interchangeable clamp for this mirror to allow it to mount a different way. The only blind spot mirror that clamps on in the way you are describing is the CIPA Top Mounted Blind Spot Mirror # CM49805. This mirror will clamp onto the top of the mirror housing on your motorhome....

  • What is the Size of the Threaded Stud on the Back of CIPA Clamp-On HotSpot Mirror - 4" x 8" CM49504
I pulled a CIPA Clamp-On HotSpot Mirror - 4" x 8" - Convex Item # CM49504 from the warehouse to measure the stud on the back. The threaded part is 1/4 inch coarse threaded and it is 1/2 inch long. After the threaded part is a solid piece with wrench flats. The rounded part is 7/16 inches wide and the part with the wrench flats is 3/8 inches wide. The solid piece is also 1/2 inch long. The tension can be adjusted for the ball joint.

  • Availability of Blind Spot Mirrors For a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox
I have many blind spot mirrors available for your 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. The blind spot mirrors are universal and can be attached by one of three ways, clamp-on, clip-on, and stick-on. Most of the blind spot mirrors are a convex shape that will help eliminate any blind spots on your factory mirror. You will want to choose the correct mirror by the size that will fit the mirrors on your vehicle now. I am including a link to a page of the blind spot mirrors I have available. I do not...

  • Hot Spot Mirror Recommendation for a 2001 Ford E-350
The round convex mirrors on emergency vehicles are designed to be mounted in the way that you describe. The CIPA clamp-on mirror, # CM49504, is designed to clamp to a round mirror bracket on a factory mirror. I looked at some pictures of the mirrors on the 2001 Ford E-350 van and I do not believe this mirror will fit. For your mirrors I recommend going with a basic stick on mirror like # 49302. It is inexpensive, cost-effective, and will provide you with more visibility.
