Magnetic LED Tow Lights

A towed vehicle is required by law to have functional brake and signal lights that illuminate at the same time as the brake and signal lights on the motorhome or RV that is towing it. These removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer.

Simply mount the lights on your vehicle's trunk or roof with the heavy-duty magnetic bases. A 63" long section of wiring connects the tow lights, giving you enough slack to position the lights where you want them. Then run the 245" long wiring harness up to the front of your towed vehicle and across your tow bar and connect it to the 4-way flat on your RV.

If your RV doesn't have a trailer connector, then you can wire the extra 35" long 4-way harness that comes with this kit to your RV. And if your RV has a 6-way or 7-way trailer connector, an adapter (sold separately) will be required to connect the tow lights to your RV.

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

The wiring length should be increased by at least five feet. We have a small vehicle and still needed to use an extension. Otherwise it is a terrific solution.

by:

Have not used yet but I think it will be great

by:

Bought these magnetic trailer lights for my hitch-mounted e-bike rack. With two bikes on the rack, the rear car lights are partly obscured. These lights attach firmly to the rack with the magnets but I will secure them with straps as the rack surface is rounded. Plenty bright. Haven’t gone any distance yet, but I will drive reassured that the cars behind will better see my braking and turning.

These work fine and are bright. I plant them behind my toad's roof rack and add a little duck tape for security. I have lost other ones before. It may be overkill on these as magnet is good.

I've seen magnetic tow lights before but not like these LED's. As soon as they arrived I opened them up, checked them out and they are very well built, the magnets seem very firm and they are BRIGHT. The video on the ETrailer site does no represent how bright these light are in my opinion. Very pleased with the quality and how visible these lights are.

  • Do Vehicle Taillights Need to Function If Vehicle is Towed with Tow Dolly
Generally, you don't need additional lighting when using a tow dolly that already has lights. However, it's not a bad idea to check with the local laws in the states you'll be traveling in. If you do need to have lights on the vehicle you could use the magnetic LED tow light kit part # TLL21RK and to add a 4-way to your tow vehicle's wiring you would want the part # 18252 which would wire into the current trailer wiring.

The Roadmaster MX Base Plates you referenced, part # 1175-3, are a correct fit for your 2009 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner and they are fully compatible with your Falcon 2 motorhome-mounted tow bar, part # RM-520. In addition to the base plates and tow bar safe and legal flat towing also requires safety cables, a lighting/wiring solution and supplementary braking system for the toad. Each of these items is reviewed in detail in the linked article on flat towing. Since you already have a Roadmaster...

The Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit you referenced, part # RM-154, will work on your 1994 Jeep Wrangler. This kit includes the 4-pole connectors, diodes and wiring components for installation that will allow your Wrangler tail light bulbs to operate in tandem with your RV. This is a great option for frequent flat-towing. I have linked an install video for your reference. A simpler option, and one that does not require any alteration to your toad wiring, is to use a plug-in...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
Based on your previous questions, I believe you are looking for a base plate kit and tow bar to flat tow your 2006 Chevrolet Aveo behind a motorhome or another vehicle. If this is the case, then you will want a base plate kit like part # BX1658 and a tow bar like part # BX7380. Unfortunately a tow bar cannot be connected directly to the bumper because the bumper is not strong enough to pull the weight of the Aveo. A few other components that you will need to flat tow your Aveo are a...

First let's get you set up with a base plate kit. The Blue Ox # BX1722 is the custom fit base plate kit for your 2013 Chevrolet Spark with a manual transmission. Next we will need a tow bar. I recommend the # BX7420, because it's easy to use and comes with the safety cables. Supplemental Braking Systems are required in most states and Canadian provinces, so you will want to look up your state and see what towing laws they enforce. You can see this at the 2 minute mark of the attached review video. I do recommend wiping down the vehicle with a microfiber cloth before putting the lights on simply to remove any dust or debris that could be abrasive between the scratch free label and the paint for added security.

If you have anti-sway on your 2015 F-250, adding weight to the rear of the truck may not keep the system from becoming activated.
