Sway Control Activates On 2015 Ford F-250 When Flat-Towing 1999 Jeep Wrangler

Hi I have a 2015 f250 reg cab srw I have just tried flat towing a 1999 jeep wrangler and my sway control activated was on a raised corner should I add weight behind the rear wheel to get a better tow

If you have anti-sway on your 2015 F-250, adding weight to the rear of the truck may not keep the system from becoming activated. The best solution would be to go slower when driving on roads with uneven surfaces.

The # RP66022 you came from is a weight distribution system that is intended to be used with trailer towing and is not designed to flat-tow a vehicle.

There are 5 items needed when you flat-tow a vehicle. If you do not have all the items needed I will make some recommendations that will work for you. You will need base plates for the Jeep, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting for the Jeep, and most states now require supplemental brake systems.

The base plates I recommend is the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 1420-1. The tow bar I recommend is the RoadMaster StowMaster Car-Mounted Tow Bar, part # RM-501.

The safety cables I recommend are part # RM-643.

If you are not planning on towing the Wrangler much I recommend the Optronics Tow Bar Wiring, part # TLL21RK. For a more permanent option I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring, part # RM-155.

For a supplemental brake system I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251.
