Features to know about

Powering Through Deep Snow: Twist Links Keep You Moving

When roads are buried or your work takes you across snow-packed ground, these chains give you the traction to keep going. The 5.5 mm (0.218") twist links bite into deep snow and even grip on ice while still delivering a smoother ride than square links. The ladder pattern keeps forward motion steady so you can climb or plow without spinning out.

Get a Snug, Reliable Fit Every Time: Built-In Cam Tighteners Do the Work

Nothing’s worse than loose chains flapping as you drive. The assisted tensioning system on these chains uses built-in cams to pull everything tight with just a twist of the included tool. Once locked down, the cams hold the chain securely in place so you can drive with confidence. For extra hold, rubber adjusters are recommended and sold separately.

Close-up of Titan Chain cam tightener showing tool inserted to twist and tighten tire chain for secure fit.

Built for Harsh Winter Work: Low-Carbon Steel Handles the Strain

Each link is made from low-carbon steel for solid strength and long-term durability. Whether you’re digging out a driveway or keeping a plow truck on schedule, these chains take repeated use in cold, wet conditions without giving up. Dry them after each run, and they’ll be ready for the next storm.

Stay Prepared for Any Route: Wide Tire Range Coverage

This pair fits 15" – 22" tires, giving you plenty of flexibility if your setup changes or you run multiple vehicles. That broad range makes them a dependable piece of gear to keep in the truck so you’re covered when chain laws kick in or a mountain pass turns slick.

Confidence on Icy Grades and Backcountry Trails: Reliable Traction You Can Trust

From steep rural driveways to snowy forest roads, these chains have proven themselves in deep snow and mud. The smooth-riding twist links and easy tensioning give you a reliable grip that helps you stay in control when winter conditions test your traction.

Lay Titan Chain tire chains flat on the ground to remove twists and tangles before installation on vehicle tires.

Drape Titan Chain tire chains over the top of a vehicle tire to begin installation.

Connect Titan Chain tire chains behind the vehicle tire by hooking the chain ends together securely.

Attach optional rubber tensioners to Titan Chain tire chains for a tight fit and recheck tension after driving forward.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Very easy installation (watch the video on the etrailer website) and excellent fit on a 2010 Tundra. I plan to visit Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana in the winter and most routes have a few mountain passes.

I can say that Ive used the chains intermittently and found them to be durable, well-fitting, and most importantly, very easy to install

by:

Went through a couple different sets before biting the bullet on these babies. Easy install after very little adjustment. The cam option is definitely the way to go.

by:

Keep it under my back seat at all times, bag it came in really sturdy. Had to use it only a few times worked flawlessly.,,,I suggest to all my friends to get a pair.

by:

Well done William

by:

Good fit that will not damage wheels. Hope I never need them.

Excellent customer service! Answered all my questions quick and informatively. I received my order very quick. Their website is awesome with links to a lot of great product information and great installation videos. I love the order tracking interface. Overall great experence with etrailers.com. I got tire chains. I will be ordering more stuff. Good prices too. Thanks etrailer.

by:

Good quality. The Cam style is worth any extra money if so required and is the way to go

etrailer was the best price I could fine, they even beat [online]. Shipping was free, what a bargain for a heavy duty set of Light Truck snow chains !

Great, they are holding up well, easy to put on and take off, the Cam style tighteners are the only way to go ! The Cams take up any slack and tighten the chains to the point where you almost dont need the bungie style chain tighteners, but I use them anyway because I like them tight with no play on my M&S Tires.

I've had very positive experience with this company. Last winter I ordered cable-chains from another provider. They weren't up to the task I needed and one set broke pretty quickly. I then ordered a single set (two tires) of chains from etailer to replace the cable-chain that snapped. The purchasing process was seamless, they arrived quickly and they were of very high quality. They took me through the rest of a challenging winter season.

With another winter now approaching, I just ordered a 2nd set so I can install them on all four tires. I won't bother to try to use the cable-chains.

Good company, good product.

A Bag of Chains is better that a Sack of Coal for Christmas.
Seriously, if it's slick outside from snow or ice, one bag of tire chains will get me home safely. With a rear wheel drive pickup, I would need 10 bags of coal to get a grip. I'm glad they came in a heavy duty canvas bag which takes up less room than a plastic box- that might not last a season. Also, etrailer.com had an easy-to-use tire size guide to match to the right products, and a good selection of products to choose from. Mainly, these chains give me the confidence to be the backcountry when the weather report is sketchy.

Funny that you should write, were expecting snow tomorrow, so I put the chains back in the truck. Sorry, nothing else to report.

Have not used them, only did a test fit which was easy.

Work great and easy to install

by:

They will work for me, I may not to ever have to use them but I’ll have them in my truck if I do. I have to have a set in my truck so I can drive over the pass’s without getting a ticket this time of the year.

Hopefully you never have to but it is nice to know you have them. I am guessing you're somewhere west coast where they are required? I had that same issue driving through Oregon not too long ago.

by:

Good chains, but were a bit too long for my 2017 Lexus GX, so a few links of chain had to be cut with a bolt cutter. Even with the chain cut, there is a little extra length that needs to be tied up so that it isn’t clunking as you drive. I’ve had plenty of experience installing chains (both cable and regular) and these were the most difficult ones I’ve ever put on. Hopefully this gets a bit easier with practice!

by:

They can be difficult to lay out untwisted so the cams are facing the same way. Take some time practicing before you need them. The bag they come in is basically for shipping. I bought a good small tool bag from harbor freight that works much better for under $10.00

by:

I had some concerns about the chains fitting my vehicle, 2015 Ram 1500 with P275/60R20. I couldn't find any information from Dodge, nor my dealer, but Etrailer.com just happen to have a video showing 3 options for my exact truck. I tried them on to make sure they fit, and they fit pretty snug and look like they will do just fine. I haven't tested them in the snow, but I will write a follow up review once that happens.

by:

This is the 3rd set of chains I've bought from eTrailer, the first 2 sets were for my work truck and this most recent purchase was for my personal truck.

I work as a delivery driver and bought the first set of chains because i don't have a lot of say which snowy/icy roads i deliver to. Being a work truck the first set of chains got abused a bit so when they finally failed it wasn't unexpected, but up until that point they were nothing short of perfect.

So far the 2nd set for my work truck is going strong (with a bit more effort not to abuse them as much).

This 3rd set is for my personal truck and more for peace-of-mind than anything else, i doubt they will see more than extremely rare use but i have no doubts that they will work as well as i expect them to.

I have not yet taken advantage of the "customer service" from eTrailer since every single thing I've ordered has been received and worked exactly as expected. Communication regarding my order and shipping has always been excellent and even better than i expected. Shipping has been super fast and I've received my products days before i thought i would.

***the picture included isn't exactly the best but you can see the chains and conditions that day (that truck is about the worst vehicle for driving in winter conditions)... also those chains are a different size but they are the same chains.

by:

I got the chains on just before a big snowfall. I put them on my plow truck. (Silverdo with a 8’ meyers) what a difference. Plowed up and down my ice and snow covered 1/4 mike drive with lots of curves and hills. Couldnt be happier with the chains. It took me 2 hours to install them. Never had chains before. There is a learning curve. I expect it will take me 1/2 hour next time. The cam tensioner wrench is made of really soft steel and broke within 15 minutes. I would recommend spending the money for a better one. They about as much as a beer at a ballgame.

by:

Not sure these chains would last on a Ford F250 diesel. They are really designed for light weight subcompact passenger car. We shall see ....

I am not planning to carry any significant weight on the snow so they should hold up a few seasons. The price is awesome!

Since the tire chains are made for a 265/75-16 wheel they should hold up on the Ford. Most trucks do have a larger tire on them but since you are not putting any extra weight in the back I do not see you having an issue with the chains.

by:

Same chain style as a semi-truck. They are heavy and a bit harder to install than cable chains, but with a lot more meat to bite the ice and snow. Comes in a cloth sack with a nice long chain key to turn the cams. Fit my BFG 275/65R18s perfectly. As the description says, you will need to supply your own rubber bungees to secure the end of the chain unless your tires are large enough to use all the links.

by:

Delivered fast, popped these on to get gamiliare with them and actyally tested them out on a road that was snow packed solid ice, my truck would not spin... i tried to make it, but the chains would not allow it in my situation. Yes chains ride rough.. real rough to be honest, but its better than not making it to your destination. They are heavy ( a big pro) feel like excellent quality and would recommend them to anyone who lives in a state that allows them.

I have only used them twice since i bought these, how ever they have held up great in storage, not a single spot of rust, or anything. They are still in brand new condition

by:

I know iron. 17 yrs trucking, mostly doubles across Montana into the Dakotas. Chained up a lot.
Pictures show what you get with this set I bought for my 2005 Tahoe. Heavy gauge chains w/triple cam locks w/long wrench for excellent leverage to get cams tight. Tight cams mean links don't "slap" pavement which causes increased wear. They arrived today so not used yet. However, for my application they will last a lot longer than those cheaper; light gauge, "disposable" chains, use once and throw away after you pay a tow bill.

  • Tire Chains for Plowing Driveway With 275/65R18 Tires
Hey Jim! That chain style would be a good compromise without going to full V-bar studs like the # TC2828CAM. They're pretty aggressive and built to last. However, you will need the # TC2228CAM for the 275/65R18 tires on your 2022 Ford F-250. What plow are you running?

There are no Class S chains (designed for low clearance) that will work with the mud or those tires. Even if there were Class S, you may not have enough clearance based on what the manual says. Twist link chains offer excellent traction in deep snow and some are even rated for mud. They provide decent traction on ice, and since they have rounded edges ride quality isn't too bad. V-Bar chains are similar but have better grip on ice. For your Ram 3500 with tires sized 275/55/20 a twist link chain would be the Titan Chain # TC2228CAM. These also come with cams for a desired tight fit. For V-bar chains you can use the Titan Chain # TC2828 chains. These can be used on or off road.
