When you’re towing long distances, this tire’s strength and speed rating make a real difference. The Karrier ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire?— Load Range E has a 10-ply rating and can carry 3,500 lbs at 90 psi (3,197 lbs in dual configuration). It’s rated M for up to 81 mph and meets DOT specifications, so you can tow confidently on the interstate without worrying about heat or handling issues.
This tire’s radial design uses cords positioned at a 90-degree angle to travel direction, cutting down on rolling resistance and heat buildup. The full nylon plies and double steel belts combine for long tread life and steady tracking at highway speeds. The computer-generated tread pattern delivers solid traction in wet or dry conditions, giving a smooth, stable ride wherever you tow.
Designed specifically for trailers, the ST construction gives this tire rigid sidewalls built to handle vertical load stress without wobble or bulge. It fits 16" x 6", 6-1/2", 7", and 7-1/2" rims, measures 30.9" in overall diameter, and has a section width of 9.4". Backed by a 5-year limited warranty and a 1-year worry-free guarantee that replaces any damaged tire within the first year, it’s built for peace of mind on every haul.
Even on hot pavement or long hauls, this tire runs cooler thanks to its premium rubber compound and radial ply design. Less heat means less wear, which helps maintain consistent performance mile after mile. It’s tough enough for extended towing yet smooth enough to reduce vibration when the road stretches out ahead.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"
