This tire has a 1-year worry-free guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way, it will be replaced at no charge.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Kenda Karrier ST235/85R16 radial trailer tire in a Load Range E. Now, this is an ST tire, which means it's a special trailer tire. Has a sturdy sidewall, so that it can handle heavy loads. And it is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on other vehicles. It is a Kenda Karrier special trailer radial tire, uses steel belts and polyester plies, which combine for superior function and long life.
The tread on it uses a silica-infused tread. And then if you look at the tread blocks, you'll see these cuts or openings. Those are sipes that'll help reduce hydroplaning. This tire's also excellent handling in off-pavement situations. It is an ST tire, it does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications.
Now, the wheel size this tire will fit on is a 16 inch by six inch wide, 16 by 6 1/2 inch wide, and a 16 by seven inch wide wheel. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 235/85R16. R means that it is a radial tire. Section width on it is 9.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 31.6 inches.
And this tire is a Load Range E, which means it's a 10-ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 3,640 pounds at 95 psi. And the last thing I do wanna mention is they do come with a speed rating now. And they stamp it on the sidewall, but it is a letter designation. And where you'll find it is right after the tire size.
There's two numbers for the load index, and then a letter M. Speed rating M will mean this is an 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that's gonna do it for our review on this Kenda Karrier ST235/85R16 radial trailer tire in a Load Range E.

This should be your one stop location for trailer parts.
I pull my boat on interstate to most my fishing locations on average I was changing the bias tire I was using every 2500 to 3000 miles. Sine installing the kenda radial I have pulled boat to Pennsylvania and back over a thousand miles and tires still look new. More than pleased
Im.a bit disappointed. Ive bought from.e trailer many times over the years. I just recieved my trailer tires only to find a date code of ( 1021 ) meaning they are 3 1/2 years old ! An article on your site says they should be replaced every 3-6 years.. So i guess i need to start looking to replace them even thpugh I havent mounted them yet! Certainly makes me think twice about buying them again from here.
Etrailer had everything we needed to repack our trailer bearings and replace our tire. Delivery of 4 trailer tires and replacement bearing washers was free and they arrived sooner than expected.
Perfect match to what I had originally. Got it mounted this morning and back on the trailer. Ready for the next adventure.
Thanks again etrailer.com. And a shout out to Justin for being helpful on all my orders. etrailer.com is my go-to for all of my trailer needs.
I actually bought 3 of theses and wheels for an overlanding trailer I built from a CE Smith boat trailer and other parts I bought from etrailer. I am happy with these tires and wheels as well as the trailer and other parts.
Very fast shipping. The tires are excellent quality and big upgrade from the load range B bias ply I had previously.
These new wheels and tires look fantastic! I am beyond pleased with the upgrade!
After some research, I decided to buy these tires for my boat trailer. I had them mounted and balanced. So far, I’m very pleased. Pulls straight and smooth and handles interstate speeds well. No visible signs of problems. I check the pressures regularly. My neighbor bought the same tires based on my experience. I’d buy these again.
Love etrailer and the Karrier tires they sell. I put a lot of miles on my fishing boat and I only trust the best to get me to my next fishing adventure. Extremely easy and fast delivery!
The tires look good but haven't been driven on yet. I'm not sure this is the place to raise this concern but shipping packaging needs to be improved. 4 tires ordered and boxed 2 per box Both boxes were open when delivered even though they were stapled close. I guess I'm lucky I received all 4 tires. It could of been due to the carrier's handling practices. The carrier was UPS. Etrailer may want to look at Tire Rack's packaging for shipping. Seems to work better plus no cardboard to recycle.
Unfortunately these only lasted 2 years and less than 8,000 miles before the belts "slipped" and the tires ballooned and got tall and round. I pull a 10k GVWR two-axle toy hauler weighed at 7800 lbs on the axles. These survived two 2600 mile trips and a few shorter trips at up to 65 mph. 3 of 4 tires ballooned and I replaced them before they blew. I filed a Kenda warranty claim and they denied that they could see anything wrong in the pictures. etrailer said Kenda handles warranty claims for these.
Tires were shipped quickly and have worked well on my boat trailer. I would definitely buy tires again from etrailer.
These tires are holding up very well , I haul a 1300 lb Lincoln SA200 welding machine on a small 8 ft trailer and these tires dont even squish
The experience of ordering my trailer tires online from etrailer.com was excellent. They kept me completely updated on the order and shipping status.i had the tires installed on Saturday and only had to drive about 18 miles back to my campsite. I am a camp host at Deschutes Rec Area State Park in Oregon and won't be moving till the 1st of September. Having read reviews about the tires before purchase, I expect them to handle very well.
These are the best trailer tires i've found. They have the E load range rating, the highest I've found. I use them on a two wheel dolly pulled behind my motorhome. They take a really beating on the road. The first set that I used had about 11,000 miles on them and may have had more life left but I'm planning a long trip this fall and don't want to take a chance on a blowout as they wear down.
I recommend them for trailer tires.
Very happy with the tire setup for tandem trailer
Performed well under heavy loads
Currently at 35K miles, mostly @ 70/80mph
I will purchase again
I've been running these Karrie radials on my tri-axle trailer, which holds a 17,000lb boat since 2016. Overall I'm satisfied. They are a smooth pulling over the road tire. I have had one let go while towing. But overall, they have been good.
Great service and fast shipping (free too) I bought a set of these mounted and bought this one for a spare. Chose these mostly for the load and speed rating as I use my trailer primarily on the hiway.
I needed a tire that could carry more than 2000 pounds (per tire). There are very few trailer tires that do that. This ST 205/75R14 had specification that is geared towards strength - side walls and load.
Being able to ship to my tire mounting shop was a benefit also.
After a few trips and several hundred miles, I am quite happy with these tires. Traveling at highway speeds, up to 70mph for more than an hour, the tires never got warm. Stored outside with no ground contact over NE Ohio winter and only lost a couple pounds of pressure.
This trailer tire has seen 3500 highway miles at high speeds with an approximately 1800 pound load (trailer and Goldwing motorcycle). The tire is quiet and tracks well. The tread wear is very slight and even. There are no chunks missing from the tread pattern like I've seen with other trailer tires that take the kind of abuse I put them through. Absolutely no signs of weather checking on the sidewalls. Periodic tire re-inflation frequency is perfectly acceptable. All tires need occasional refilling. This tire scarcely looses 5 - 8 PSI over a period of a year.
