For long towing days in heat or rough conditions, this combo is built to stay dependable. The Kenda Loadstar ST175/80D13 bias tire has an 8-ply rating and handles up to 1,610 lbs at 65 psi with a speed rating of M (81 mph). The wheel carries a 1,480-lb rating, and the full tire-and-wheel assembly meets DOT specs for safe, confident highway use.
Moisture and salt are no match for this finish. The 13" x 4-1/2" steel wheel uses an e-coat primer topped with a black powder coat that seals out corrosion and keeps the wheel looking sharp. It’s a conventional steel design that resists rust and holds up well season after season.
The bias-ply construction is made with thick nylon cords laid at a 30- to 45-degree angle in alternating layers. This crisscross pattern gives the sidewalls extra stiffness so the whole tire flexes evenly. The result is better stability and a smoother feel when towing over uneven roads or gravel surfaces.
Getting the right stance is easy with this setup. The +0.5" offset means the mounting surface sits slightly outside the rim centerline, giving solid clearance and balanced tracking. The wheel uses a common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, a 2.62" pilot diameter, and 1/2"-20 bolts, so it installs cleanly on compatible hubs without guesswork.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

The rims mounted easily on our vintage trailer. The narrow width of the tires on the 4 1/2 inch rim was helpful in this case because the wheel well space on our trailer is limited. The 13 inch tires on 0.5 inch offset black standard wheels (5 in. on 4 1/2 in bolt pattern) were installed on a 2006 Rockwood 1910 pop-up camper to replace the original 12 inch wheels/tires that were not load/speed rated properly for the trailer.
They fit right on the trailer without any mounting or clearance issues.
These look good (and retro) with the Baby-Moon hubcaps that I got to go with them.

No problems whatsoever from the tire wheel combo. Im glad I upgraded to a stronger tire even though I didnt need to. Honestly, they are so good I dont even think about them where I constantly worried about my old tires.

These are excellent wheels, very durable take a baby moon hub cap nice and solid plus they look good. Tires haven't worn at all but that's partly due to the fact I used these on a very light kayak trailer I built. I'd order them again without question if I needed wheels for something the tire wheel combo is a good value. On a larger trailer you might want a wider better tire though these are pretty narrow.

Still holding up well, still used on the same very light kayak trailer, the trailer is stored mostly inside out of the sun in my shop. Really only thing that could have been better for my application is a tire with a softer side wall to better dampen bounce both up and down and side to side, since I have such a light load. Pulling at highway speeds I dont think running them at lower pressure is a good idea either. When I build my next kayak trailer it will have independent suspension and a better tire, Id still run these wheels with a moon hubcap though.
