Features to know about

Stronger Suspension for Heavy Loads: Heavy-Duty 1/2" Thick Shackle Links

Factory suspension parts can flex or wear out when hauling serious weight. This heavy-duty kit replaces them with 1/2" thick shackle links that keep everything tight and aligned. Each link is thicker than standard straps, giving the suspension a solid connection point that stands up to long miles and rough roads.

Smooth Load Transfer Across Axles: Precision Equalizers for 33" Axle Spacing

Uneven bumps can make a rig feel unsettled. The included equalizers handle that by letting the axles move together, transferring load and impact evenly between them. Designed for 33" axle spacing, they help keep weight balanced so all three axles work as a team instead of fighting each other.

Built for Easy Maintenance: Wet Bolts and Grease Zerks Keep Everything Moving

Keeping the suspension quiet and free-moving shouldn’t be a chore. This kit uses wet bolts and built-in grease zerks so you can quickly lube the moving parts without disassembly. Regular greasing cuts down friction, resists wear, and keeps the ride smooth over time.

Durable, Long-Lasting Construction: Bronze Bushings Resist Corrosion and Wear

Cheap nylon bushings wear fast and can squeak under load. This kit upgrades to bronze bushings that hold up to heavy use and resist corrosion. They fit snugly in the spring eyes to keep bolts tight and properly aligned, giving you a suspension that stays solid and quiet.

Complete Setup for Triple-Axle Stability: All the Hardware You Need

With 4 equalizers, 12 shackle strap assemblies, 12 bronze bushings, and 22 flange nuts, this kit has what’s needed to mount six 1-3/4" wide double-eye springs to the frame hangers. It’s a complete heavy-duty upgrade that ties every axle together for steady tracking and dependable towing.

The measurements in the description on the balance arms did not match the arm physically when it arrived but physically matched my current worn out arms. Two of the pre assembled shackles would not go together without grinding some of the zinc coating off the bolt ends and the holes on the corresponding shackle plates. Outside of that issue I would have given this product all 5 stars.

I havent installed the kit yet but i have installed another kit abour 5 years ago. I am very pleased with the product. The shackles are twice as thick as previous. These new ones also have the bronze bushings installed with the 12 bronze bushings for my springs. Would recommend to another customer. The shipping was expedited efficiently and timely. Arrived quickly for regular free shipping. Thanks . Probably looking at buying 3 axle disc brakes from etrailer shortly.

Awesome package!! I don't know why trailer manufacturers don't use the best when they build them. Everything fit perfect period way stronger than original equipment. Nice to be able to grease fittings no more nylon to wear out.

The order delivered was on time. However, being shipped all the way across the country and being a heavy package — the packing box was beat up and one small I item was lost. So I call the main number and talked to a company rep— looked up my order and they had the missing item in the mail that day. I received the part two days later. They were very professional and nice people to do business with. Thanks

  • Dexter Heavy Duty Greasable Shackle Kit Needed
It sounds like the Replacement Shackle Link with Bolts # 018-026-05 that you referenced is what you are needing. It comes with the shackle and wet bolts that have a grease zerk fitting installed on them. This kit is compatible with the following heavy duty Dexter Axle suspension kits: Kit - # K71-359-00 Kit - # K71-360-00 Kit - K71-448-00 Kit - # K71-449-00 Kit - K71-453-00

  • Could Leaf Spring e94SR Fit a Heartland Cyclone
When picking out leaf springs for a trailer priority one is the proper capacity. If you have 6k axles on your Heartland Cyclone then the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e94SR would fit and work well as a replacement. The hanger kit part # K71-360-00 would then work well with this spring as well. If your older springs were worn out and sagging because of that these would eliminate the sag. Since these springs are a little bit thicker the trailer would sit up a bit taller if the springs mount...

  • Recommendation for Adding Third Axle To Trailer Suspension
The Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit # K71-360-00 is designed for 33 inch axle spacing. To add your third axle, you cannot simply add a hanger spring and axle. You can keep your 35 inch spacing but you will need to relocate your hangers. I've attached an article to help with the proper positioning of your axles. You will need to add another equalizer of the same dimension as you have to each side and then add the same leaf springs and shackle straps as what you currently have. You...

  • Replacement Hanger Kit, Leaf Springs, Brake Assemblies and Drums for Triple Axle 3,500 lb Axles
We have ways to help you find out what you need but you'll have to do some measuring to determine exactly what your trailer needs. Judging by what you listed it looks like you have a triple axle setup that uses 3,500 lb axles. So lets first start with leaf springs. For that you'd want the 3,500 lb springs part # e54SR which matches the length of what you have now and the capacity. The Dexter Suspension Kit part # K71-360-00 you referenced would then work well with this. So now for brakes...

  • Replacement Suspension for Triple Axle Trailer with 5,200 lb Trailer Axles
Hey McKiever, lets start with leaf springs. Since your trailer has 5,200 lb axles the Dexter Spring part # DX45CR would be a great option that will hold up well and it is a popular size of 25-1/4 inches. Then for a heavy duty equalizer kit the part # K71-360-00 that you referenced would be a great option. This comes with hangers, wet bolts, shackles, bushings and nuts. So all we have left is a hanger kit. The # 115918 could be used for all positions and is a standard height that would...

  • Troubleshooting Equalizers Rock Forward When Trailer Sitting Level and Leaf Springs Touch Frame
Hi Colton; are you replacing the leaf springs as well? Is that what you mean when you say you have 4 springs 25-1/4"ish for front and rear and 26" for the rear? Replacing the equalizers isn't a bad idea while you're working on this but I don't see that being the main issue. It sounds like your leaf springs are completely worn out which is throwing everything off while allowing them to contact the trailer frame. Replacing them will likely solve your problems. Unless you have changed the...

Then you will need to change your hanger locations so, I recommend using the Triple-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 1-1/2" Front/Rear, 2-1/2" Center # APTT3 and I've attached a help article to assist with the placement. The leaf springs you need will depend on the axle capacity...

The Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit # K71-360-00 is designed for 33" axle spacing. Since your current spacing is 34" this kit should fit just fine with your current hanger spacing. I have attached a picture showing what this kit should look like once installed. If you are wanting to get precise with your fit and measurements then I would need to know the length of your leaf springs (center-eye to center-eye) when your trailer is unloaded as well as the weight capacity of your axles.

  • What Causes Trailer Suspension Equalizers to not Sit Level
The amount of tilt I see in the pictures you submitted of your equalizer isn't too bad. That could easily be from the trailer not sitting perfectly level. If the trailer is level and it's still tilting this can be solved in one of three ways. You either go with shorter leaf springs, a shorter in width equalizer, or you move the rear and front hangers out about half inch.

  • Where Does Third Axle Normally Install When Adding Axle to Tandem Axle
The best axle location will be the location that allows the tongue weight of the trailer to be between 10 and 15 percent of the total trailer weight. We realize that's really hard to determine in your current situation since the trailer isn't built yet, but I did attach a link to a page that has info and formulas to help once you get to a place where you can place the axles. In general though when adding a third axle to a tandem the two axles would need to be moved forward a bit. A great...

  • How To Determine Correct Leaf Spring Hanger Spacing for the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit
In order to determine the correct leaf spring hanger locations on a trailer you first need to position the axles correctly. I have attached a help article on this part of the process for you. It is very possible that the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit # K71-360-00 you were looking at will fit your 2008 Heartland RV Cyclone 5th Wheel Triple Axle Toy Hauler, but to confirm this you will want to measure the length of your existing equalizers and shackle straps. The Hanger # 28-5 spacing for the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit # K71-360-00 on your triple axle trailer is going to depend on the length of the leaf springs you are using. With the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e76SR having a length of 24-7/8" this means you will need your hangers spaced 29-1/2" from the center hanger to front and rear on center. The center hangers will be spaced 34" on center.

You are right on. Since you have 33" axle spacing and 6000lb axles on your triple axle toy hauler I recommend the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit # K71-360-00 as it was designed to work with trip axle trailers with 33" axle spacing and axles up to 7000lbs each. • Why Would Trailer Suspension Shackles Flip Upside Down When Axle Drops
If your shackles and equalizers are flipping upside down that would indicate you have either too wide of hanger spacing or you have equalizers that are too short. The easy solution will be to get the dimensions of your equalizer to me so that I can pick you out one that is slightly long and will make it much harder for the shackle to flip. I attached a page that has all of the equalizers we offer for you to check out. The lengths of them are organized on the filters on the left of the page.

  • Proper Loading of Triple Axle Trailer to Minimize Sway
The fact that your modified trailer has a third un-braked axle added in front of the two braked axles will not directly affect sway. Nor will the fact that it seems to balance pretty well on its own without a load. Trailer sway, or the lack of it, is mostly a function of load distribution. If the loaded trailer is too light at the tongue (too heavy at the rear) the rear of the trailer will tend to swing like the pendulum on a grandfather clock. Tongue weight (TW) should always stay in...

  • Will Adding a Third Axle to A trailer Affect Its Tongue Weight
Assuming that the way the load is distributed on the trailer isn't changing, adding the third axle shouldn't have much of an effect on the tongue weight. It will however better disperse the weight of the trailer down to the ground, resulting in less wear and tear on the suspension and running components like wheels, hubs and bearings assuming that the load on the trailer isn't increased.
