Question:
I am a many time past customer and have a triple axle trailer that I use to transport a 36ft boat. I want to use 16 inch wheels on. Tires to be 235 85 R16 ST. Axles are 5200 pound each. Boat weighs about 10K and estimate the trailer at 5K. These tires are 31.7 or 31.8 diameter. I need the axle spacing to be about 36 1/2 inches or slightly more. Load on axles wshoul be about 13K. The trailer is about 40 feet long so the spacing should be ok? Can you recomend hangers, springs, and equalizers that you can provide?

Hey McKiever, lets start with leaf springs. Since your trailer has 5,200 lb axles the Dexter Spring part # DX45CR would be a great option that will hold up well and it is a popular size of 25-1/4 inches. Then for a heavy duty equalizer kit the part # K71-360-00 that you referenced would be a great option. This comes with hangers, wet bolts, shackles, bushings and nuts.
So all we have left is a hanger kit. The # 115918 could be used for all positions and is a standard height that would work great. Do you have wheels and tires picked out already?

Thank you for the response, but I don't think this solves the issue of axle spacing that I need for the 16 inch wheels and 235 85 R16 ST tires. I am not an expert in this field, but I think this recommmended set up will give me 33 inch spacing which is not enough for the 16 inch wheels and tires. From my understanding, I think I will have to go to slipper springs to get longer springs and longer edualizers to acheive the required spacing for these wheels. But I would like confirmation before I order them.
