Bumps and potholes can send shocks through the whole trailer. This 9" long equalizer connects your double-eye leaf springs so the suspension can move naturally between axles. It transfers sudden impacts from one axle to the other and spreads weight evenly, keeping the ride smooth and the load steady. Whether you’re cruising the highway or towing over uneven ground, it helps the trailer track level and stable.
Stability starts with the right fit. This equalizer works with 1-3/4" wide double-eye springs and uses 9/16" diameter bolt holes at the center and on each end for secure mounting. That precision sizing keeps the suspension geometry correct and prevents unwanted play so the springs move freely without binding.
When your trailer runs multiple axles, each part of the suspension has to share the load. This standard equalizer links the leaf springs on tandem- or triple-axle setups, letting each axle flex as needed. It keeps weight distribution balanced and limits stress on individual springs or hangers so the whole system lasts longer.
The equalizer hangs from a center hanger (sold separately) and connects to your shackle straps and rear leaf springs for a clean, direct install. With a 2" wide mounting area where the springs bolt up, it fits neatly into standard trailer suspension layouts. It’s a straightforward piece that restores proper articulation and brings back that steady, controlled ride.

Hi, there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Dexter equalizer for 1 3/4-inch wide double eye springs. This is gonna connect to the double eye springs on your dual or triple axle trailers and this will help to transfer the load and send impacts from one axle to another by permitting movement between the axles to help better distribute weight evenly and give you much smoother ride for your trailer. And this is going to fit 1 3/4-inch wide double eye leaf springs with 9/16-inch spring eyes. Now, this is going to suspend from your center hanger, which is sold separately via our center bolt hole here that has 9/16-inch diameter. The spring attaches to the front of the equalizer here with the shackle straps, which are sold separately.
And again, this is a 9/16-inch diameter hole here. And then your rear leaf spring is gonna attach directly to the equalizer. So if you're needing to replace or add an equalizer for your 1 3/4-inch wide double eye springs, this is gonna be a great option for you. That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com.
Thanks for watching.
