Older bulbs can fade or fail just when you need them most. This Peterson LumenX LED clearance and side marker light uses advanced LumenX optics that form a solid panel of bright red light across the entire lens. With five LEDs built in, it delivers strong, even illumination while drawing less power than traditional incandescent lights. It’s built for 12V DC systems and operates anywhere between 9V and 16V, giving you reliable performance with no bulbs to replace and no filaments to break.
Water damage is one of the biggest causes of trailer light failure. This light solves that with a sealed, waterproof housing and lens that make it submersible. Whether you’re on wet roads or backing into the ramp, moisture stays out so the electronics stay protected. The solid construction keeps the LEDs safe from corrosion and extends the life of the light far beyond what a typical bulb setup can handle.
Visibility matters for safety, especially at night or in low light. This PC-rated light throws a 90-degree beam to each side for a full 180 degrees of coverage. That means other drivers can clearly see your trailer from the front and side. When properly mounted, it can serve as both a clearance and side marker light without needing a specific top-mount position to meet DOT requirements.
Installing this round 3-3/8" diameter light is straightforward thanks to its recessed mount design with built-in flange. It fits neatly into a pre-cut hole or existing mount location and connects easily using an industry-standard 2-prong plug (sold separately). The wiring setup is simple and secure, giving you a clean look with dependable electrical contact every time.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Peterson submersible LumenX LED clearance and side marker trailer light. Now this LED trailer light is going to function as a clearance and side marker light when it's properly mounted, and it does not require top mount position to meet the Department of Transportation requirements for PC rating. And as you can see, I do have this connected to power. You can see how bright it is, even with my bright studio lights on here.
But let me go ahead and give you a closeup, turn my studio lights off here just to give you a better demonstration of what this is gonna look like in low light or dark conditions. LumenX optics create a solid panel of light that's going to light up the entire lens as you can see. And as you know, LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last 50 times longer and they're more efficient. So they're gonna provide brighter light with less power output.
There's not gonna be any bulbs you're gonna have to replace or brittle filaments. I'm gonna go back out to my wide view just so you can see what this looks like from a distance, and trying to keep my wires together, I'm gonna shine this on the wall behind me. So this, the regulated design is going to ensure consistent light output. It's gonna help prevent overheating. And then going back to a closeup, line that up there, I'm gonna go ahead and turn my studio lights back on.
Go ahead and disconnect the power so I'm not continuing to blind you. Now this is, as you've noticed, a clear lens over five red LEDs and this is sealed. So it's a waterproof housing and lens unit. And lemme go ahead and put a ruler up to this just so you have a good idea of the size. So the diameter there, we're gonna call it right at about 3 3/8 inches.
And the diameter of just the light itself, 2 1/2 inches. And then the depth of the light, including the socket there, oh, about 1 1/2 inches deep or so. And in case you we inchesre wondering, the distance between the mounting holes on center is going to be 3 1/16 inches. As you probably already noticed, this does accept the industry standard two prong plug. So if you do not have that, we do carry it. You can find that on our product, or on our website rather using the item number 142-49. Again, 142-49. You should also be able to find that on the related products tab on this product page. So this'll be obviously compatible with your 12 volt DC systems. It is DOT compliant and it does meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requirements for automotive lighting. It is PC rated. Very durable light. I think it's gonna look great on your trailer as well with that attractive black trim and flange. But I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
