Old incandescent bulbs can dim over time and burn out when you need them most. This 2-1/2" round light uses three red LEDs that put out a crisp, bright beam while drawing only 0.06 amps at 12.8V. The housing and clear lens on this light are sonically sealed together to form one waterproof unit that’s fully submersible. That tight seal keeps moisture out and protects the circuit board so your lights stay clear and reliable every time you tow, even after repeated submersion.
Rough roads and constant vibration can shake ordinary lights apart. Installing this light is straightforward thanks to its recessed-mount design and standard PL-2 connection. It features a sonically-sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit that is submersible. It also features durable surface-mount technology when it comes to the construction of the LED circuit board. That design better withstands shock and vibration and allows for improved heat distribution.Now this is an LED system. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights.
They last longer. They burn brighter, and they're more efficient. With LEDs you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs, and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. This one features a nice durable polycarbonate housing with an acrylic lens. It is compatible with 12-volt electrical systems, and here on the back, it accepts an industry standard two-prong plug which is sold separately and available at etrailer.com.Also, when mounting, it's a grommet-mount installation, and the grommet is sold separately as well, also available at etrailer.com if needed.
It is Department of Transportation compliant. It meets FMVSS 108 requirements in any 360-degree position. When it comes to the overall diameter of the unit, that's measuring edge to edge, it's about two-and-a-half inches. The overall depth, I'm just measuring the lens, it's three-quarters of an inch. It contains a total of three LEDs.Now we're going to go ahead and hook it up to power.
That way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. Then we'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low-light setting. So here's a two-prong plug. It goes directly into the connection points around the back of the light, pushes in. So you can see here the light sends out a nice bright consistent signal, three diode or three LED design really helps optimize the overall light output.
Power draw at 12.8 volts is 0.06 amps, and Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.That's going to do it for today's look at the LED clearance or side marker light from Optronics.
