Swapping out old bulbs for LEDs makes a big difference. This Peterson Piranha light uses four amber LEDs that shine bright while only drawing 0.02 amps at 12V. It’s more efficient than incandescent lights and doesn’t waste energy as heat. With no filaments to break and no bulbs to replace, it just keeps working—lasting up to 50 times longer for a light you can count on every time.
If your trailer ever sees water, this light is built to handle it. The sealed housing and lens keep moisture out, protecting the diodes and circuit board from corrosion or shorting out. Whether it’s rain, road spray, or full submersion, the waterproof design keeps the light working like new. That means fewer worries about replacing lights after every wet trip.
Bumpy roads, vibration, and constant movement can wear out ordinary lights fast. The SMD construction in this Piranha LED light is made to take that punishment. It resists shock and vibration better than traditional setups while helping manage heat more efficiently. The result is a thinner, stronger light that stays reliable even after years of use.
Installing this light doesn’t require cutting large holes or running complicated wiring. It mounts flat against the trailer surface using a bracket (sold separately) and accepts a standard 2-wire plug connection. That makes it easy to swap out old lights or add new ones without hassle—just power and ground, and you’re good to go.
Good lighting isn’t just about brightness—it’s about direction too. This P2-rated light puts out a 90-degree beam pattern (45 degrees on each side of center), giving clear visibility straight on where it matters most. It works great as either a clearance or side marker light, making your trailer easier to see at night or in low-visibility conditions.

Today we're going to take a look at the Peterson Piranha LED Clearance or Side Marker light. This is going to have four diodes and an amber lens. This is going to replace or upgrade your existing trailer marker light or clearance light. This is just going to mount on the surface of your trailer with a bracket. You can find that bracket sold separately here at etrailer.com using part number B154-11. It also is going to work with the female marker light plug, which is also sold separately.
You can also find that using part number 153-49. This is what it's going to look like. If we connect that to the back of our light, we'll get all our functions, and then you turn that on, and we'll be able to power our light. It seems we will have our four diodes in there, turn the lights out in the studio, so you can get a better idea of what it'll look like in the dark, provides a pretty good amount of light. The nice things about LEDs over an incandescent bulb is that there's no brittle filaments that can break, so you don't have to worry about replacing any bulbs with this. It's going to be up to 50 times longer lasting than your incandescent bulbs, and just provides a nice, bright light with less power output.
This is going to have an input voltage of nine to 16 volts DC. If we turn off our power here, pull off our plug, again this plug is sold separately here at etrailer.com, and this light is going to be DOT compliant. As far as our dimensions, it's going to be three and three sixteenths of an inch long, and about one and a quarter inch wide, and it'll be thirteen sixteenths inch deep. It has four diodes, and those LEDs do have a limited lifetime warranty from Peterson. That's going to do it for our look at the Peterson Piranha LED Clearance or Side Marker lights with four diodes and an amber lens..

Fast delivery, easy installation, great product!
I have not installed them yet, but they look like they will work just fine. Don’t have to worry lightbulbs getting loose.
Were exactly the same size and need for my 20’ trailer!
Great seller/ Fast shipping AAAAA +++++
Much better connection than the original incandescent lights I replaced with these LED lights, and much brighter. Great product and fast shipping!
Great product
Just what I ordered...thanks
Very reasonable price and fast shipping
Exact replacement for my trailer. The factory incandescent bulbs had faded and connections were failing. With a quick inspection with a multi meter I found that all the lamp bases checked out.
I installed this Amber and Red marker lamps through out the whole trailer. I now “glow” going down the road at night. I highly recommend these replacement lamps.
Fits perfectly in my existing mounts on a 2004 Haulmark cargo trailer.
