This rectangular clearance or side marker light keeps things simple and dependable. It’s built around a standard 194 incandescent bulb that draws just 0.2 amps at 12.8V, giving you bright, steady visibility without overloading your wiring. The twist-in bulb socket locks the bulb securely in place, so replacements are quick when needed. Even better, since incandescent bulbs aren’t polarity sensitive, it doesn’t matter which lead you hook to power or ground—it will light up either way.
The built-in reflex reflector takes care of visibility and compliance in one clean package. This light is DOT compliant and P2 rated, which means it shines a 45-degree beam to each side of center for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. That’s ideal for use as either a clearance light or a side marker, giving you the right amount of light straight ahead so other drivers can see your trailer coming or going.
A solid black ABS plastic base gives this light its toughness and durability. It stands up to vibration and the usual knocks trailers take on the road or at the jobsite. The red snap-on lens locks tight to keep dust out while still being easy to remove when it’s time to service the bulb. It’s a simple design that just holds up over time.
Swapping out old lights shouldn’t take all day, and with this surface-mount design it won’t. The housing measures 4" long by 2" tall and just 1" deep, with mounting holes spaced 3" apart center to center and sized for standard 1/4" hardware (not included). The two-wire design—one power lead, one ground—keeps wiring straightforward whether you’re replacing a broken light or adding new ones.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics trailer clearance or side marker light. This rectangular trailer light serves as either a side marker light or a clearance light for your trailer. Features a really nice red acrylic lens with the reflex reflector built in. The lens is replaceable if ever needed. And then on the bottom we have a black ABS plastic base. Internally it has one incandescent bulb.
Uses bulb number 194, which is included. It mounts directly on the surface of the trailer, so what you'll need to do is remove the lensing to gain access to the two mount holes, and then use mounting hardware to get it installed. Hardware not included. It does have that twist in bolt socket with the power lead and ground wires. It's Department of Transportation compliant.
It is a P2 rated light.When it comes to the overall dimensions, starting with the overall length going edge to edge, looking at about four inches by two inches, and the overall depth is about one inch deep. The mount holes are separated on center by three inches and they have a diameter measurement of a quarter inch. We're gonna go ahead and hook it up to power; that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it, and we'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a lower light setting. Now this unit contains one incandescent bulb. Sends out a nice consistent signal, and here you can see that reflex material is built in to the lens.
Increases safety and visibility. It's a really nice design, plenty of light output, and again that bulb number, if you ever need to replace it, it uses bulb number 194.That's gonna do it for today's look at the Optronics trailer clearance or side marker light.

Very happy with my purchase. These lights are the exact same as the OEM light on my '15 Forest River Grey Wolf. My reason for purchase was that one of the original lenses had gone missing (likely on the side of the highway somewhere) and a full replacement light was less expensive than a replacement lens alone.
