Hard stops and heavy loads reveal worn hubs. This ABS-ready Lippert hub and drum comes prepacked with bearings, races, seal, and wheel bolts, saving you time on install and restoring smooth braking and steadier towing you can count on.
You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Lippert's anti-lock braking system earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. The hub's toothy edge works like a tone ring. As it spins, sensors track wheel rotation and feed data to the ABS system, preventing lockup and giving you improved control when braking.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Lippert 10 inch ABS trailer hub and drum assembly for 4,400 pound axles. Folks, this features a six on five and a half inch bolt pattern and it comes pre-greased. So folks, to me that's one of the biggest advantages of this assembly. One, you get everything.
The grease cap, the castle nut, the cotter pin, the lug nuts, and all the bearings are pre-greased. The seals in the back already pressed in. Everything's already pre-greased. That's going to save you valuable time. It's going to save you energy.
It's going to get you right back on the road faster. So if you have one of these, whether you're swapping them for maintenance or if you're like me, you just like to carry an extra one for the wet if factor. If you're on the side of the road, now you can just pop the old one off, pop the new one on, and you'll be back on the road in no time. Again, this is a 10 inch brake drum assembly. It's designed to work with compatible electric and hydraulic drum brakes, making it an excellent replacement for worn or damaged hub and drum assemblies.
And as you can see, you have this black ABS encoder ring, some people call them a tone ring. These notches are what is the ABS system that that sensor that's on the trailer side is reading as this is spinning based on the speed of these notches going around. It knows when to apply and let off of the intellect brake system. So that's what you're seeing there is the notches. So make sure this is the right unit for what you're looking for.
And again, this is built for durability. This assembly has been designed to withstand road use, highway travel, salt sprays, or I'm sorry, road sprays, those kind of things, and frequent towing. And this is great for campers, utility trailers, enclosed cargo trailers, those kind of size is generally what you're going to see it on. Again, the six lug on five and a half inch pattern. And again, everything you need comes with it ready to go. Well, folks, I think that's going to wrap up our quick look together at this Lippert ABS trailer hub and drum assembly. I'm Steven. As always, stay safe while you're towing and have a great day.

Fast delivery great to work with
Sent me a used burnt up brake drum
Bearings were not sufficiently greased for my liking. Came with a 2.125 grease seal. Had to replace it with a 2.250 for my axle.
Fast shipping from etrailer. Box was battered and partially open upon arrival but nothing was damaged or missing.
Prices are very good when you consider that the freight is paid. Even the heavy drums were packed well and arrived with no issues in record time. I would do business with them again
Items were well packaged with no shipment damage. Installation was as expected with no issues. Perfect fit.
Cody was great at making sure I had the correct part as I ordered the wrong lug size..
Hub came in excellent condition and ready to mount! The only issue is UPS took extra day to deliver.
Rick D was great, had a question on what I found, and he answered very professionally. Parts were then shipped promptly.
Looks like things are generally okay, but the races were NOT pre-greased prior to dropping the bearing in. This means I need to pull the seals, grease the races, then put in new seals. This is an additional 20 min plus the cost of new seals, just to be able to say these hubs are in condition to mount. I will not give my customers hubs that are under-prepared because I don't want the reputation of having to redo a bearing job.
