Getting your trailer connected couldn’t be simpler. The eZ-Latch coupler lets you just drop the 2-5/16" ball into place without having to hold or tug on the latch. Once it’s lined up, the latch snaps shut automatically for a solid, secure fit. It takes the hassle out of hitching up and makes disconnects just as quick when it’s time to unhook.
This hydraulic actuator activates your trailer’s drum brakes automatically when you slow down or stop—no brake controller needed. The momentum of the trailer pushes the actuator in, pressurizing the composite master cylinder and sending smooth, even braking power to your wheels. With an 8,000 lb gross towing weight and 800 lb maximum tongue weight rating, it’s built to handle heavy loads confidently.
The heavy-duty steel housing has a durable zinc coating that stands up to corrosion and harsh weather. It’s rated for 200 hours of salt spray protection, making it well suited for boat trailers and anyone towing in wet or salty conditions. Inside, a glass-reinforced nylon master cylinder won’t rust or pit, so the braking system keeps working smoothly trip after trip.
The large reservoir holds more brake fluid to help prevent running low on long hauls. A diaphragm-style cap seals the system completely to keep out moisture and debris that can contaminate fluid. An acetyl copolymer liner inside the actuator provides a low-friction surface so it telescopes in and out easily during stops and starts.
With a built-in 4" drop, this design helps line up the coupler height with different trailer setups. It bolts right onto a 3"-wide tongue using three mounting holes—1/2" x 4-1/2" Grade-5 bolts (not included)—and includes a breakaway cable with snap hook for safety. It’s a straightforward solution that replaces older surge units cleanly without extra parts or welding.

Hitch arrived early and looks just like the picture and description. It is an exact replacement for the original. All the parts are available to rebuild the unit as well but mine was rusted pretty badly so I would have had a lot of time refinishing everything I didn't replace. In my situation there was about a $50 difference between rebuilding old or complete new unit. If your hitch is in better shape than mine, they have an excellent selection of repair parts. I would suggest taking yours apart and as long as it's not rusted solid, they can probably supply you with parts for less than $70.
Had a hard time trying to find this product, but E trailer was able to provide me with great service and found the trailer hitch I needed for my trailer.

Excellent quality, very sturdy construction and excellent service.
Quality of the parts is good. Fit was good. Assembly quality was poor. Missing the cotter pin for the damper end pin . Brake fluid outlet fitting was loose.
Fast and exact replacement part, 300 bucks less that the local trailer parts store, A1 ++++

Nice coupler, however packaging is very insufficient and has been dropped where brake line threads, threads were damaged in the master cylinder and the brass adapter to the hose is bent. The packaging only has a couple pieces of shipping paper in it, not near enough to prevent shipping damage

Bolted in place of the old one with minor drilling. Easy to bleed the system and works great.
I live on a farm where it seems we're always fixing trailers or building trailers for use. I have bought several hitches from etrailer and they have ALWAYS been helpful. Great selection to choose from also. Recommend them highly.

Fine - I don’t use the brakes - just the tongue as that is the same model that was on there before
Used this for a homemade dump trailer.
Found it was best to use a skid steer to bleed the system, move the tongue in. Then have a chain to back out. 2 person job.
Overall good product. Brakes work great! Plan on making a cover for the reservoir tank.
