Question:
What weld on or bolt on Actuators fit a 3 1/2 inch tongue? 8000 lb capacity, single axle, drum brakes.

The linked page displays the 8K-rated drum brake surge actuators, both bolt-on and weld-on types. You can click on the coupler ball size you need, 2-inch or 2-5/16-inch, to see options. For example, Demco bolt-on coupler # DM8759411 takes a 2-5/16 inch ball and fits trailer tongues that are 3-inches wide.
I checked the Alumaweld website and also called them to find out the width of the tongue on your trailer but they were not able to confirm. I also called one of their dealers in Orgeon, Stevens Marine, to find this out and they told me the trailer tongue width should be either 3-inch or 4-inch, but not 3-1/2.
