Surge Brake Actuator Recommendation to Replace TITAN / DICO Model 60Z
Updated 09/07/2017 | Published 09/05/2017 >
Question:
I have a heavy galvanized trailer supporting a custom made center console pontoon boat with square pontoons. Boat and trailer approach 6000 pounds as a guess. Surge brake actuator corroded and needs replacing. I am looking at the DEMCO Model DA91 Drum Brake Actuator #8759411 due to its saftety latch features and corrosion resistance claims. Original equipment was TITAN / DICO Model 60Z Wheel Lock Drum Brake Actuator. It lasted ballpark 6 years. I have forgotten to latch it down and have it come off twice, hence the interest in the DEMCO model. Will it support a tandem axle trailer with brakes on each axle.

Yes, the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM8759411 that you referenced will work on a tandem axle trailer with drum brakes like what you have.
The latch system of this would also work well too since it automatically latches to the ball.
