Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Timkin replacement trailer wheel bearing. This is a high quality 28580 tapered roller bearing that's gonna replace an inner bearing for your number 99 spindle. This does use the industry standard numbers, so you can see that 28580 printed on that inner circle or cone there. The races that this is gonna work with are listed on the screen there.
Those races are not included, but if you see any of those numbers on your race you can trust this is going to work for you. If you don't see either the industry standard number on your bearing or a number on your race, you can also measure the inner diameter just to confirm that it's gonna work for you. It is a very precise measurement so I'd recommend getting some digital calipers that go down to a thousandth of an inch. You can see that our inner diameter there is 2.000 inches, so right at two inches. This is a Timkin product so you can trust it is going to be very high quality.
If you're not familiar, Timkin is one of the most well known and highly trusted brands in the industry because their products are engineered with higher quality controls. So that's gonna ensure tighter tolerances and run outs than other manufacturers, which in turn will help to reduce any vibrations and noise and ensure a nice long bearing life as long as you have it installed properly. That higher quality is even evident in the way this comes packaged. It's individually packaged in a little cardboard box. Inside that box, there's a plastic wrap around it.
This does have oiling to it. It's oil coated to help prevent any surface rust. So when you get it, it's gonna be in excellent condition, ready for you to pack it or oil it and get it installed right away. So really great quality here. I'll give you excellent performance for a long time to come.
