Features to know about

Smooth, Steady Towing Every Trip: 7,000-lb Rated Axle with Electric Brakes

This 7,000-lb trailer axle keeps your load stable and your trailer tracking straight. The round 3" diameter beam is built from high-strength steel and designed with a zero-camber bend that gives even tire contact for steady, in-line towing. The underslung spring seats are welded to the underside so your leaf springs (sold separately) mount low for easy loading and unloading. It’s a simple, solid setup that tows smooth mile after mile.

Simple Brake Setup: Electric Brakes Already Installed

There’s no need to fuss with hydraulic lines or actuators. This axle comes with electric brakes already mounted, plus adjuster plugs, mounting bolts, and hardware. The 12-15/16" x 2-3/8" drum assemblies are built strong from cast iron and ready to go right out of the box. Once wired into your brake controller, you’ll have confident braking power that’s easy to maintain with periodic manual adjustment.

Fast, Mess-Free Maintenance: Easy Grease Spindles and Pre-Greased Hubs

Keeping bearings lubricated is quick thanks to the built-in grease zerks on each straight spindle. Just attach your grease gun and pump—it’s that simple. The pre-greased hubs already include bearings, races, seals, and lug nuts, so there’s no messy packing or extra steps. The grease cap flange measures 2.722", and the 1/2"-diameter, 1-5/16"-long wheel studs fit standard 8 on 6-1/2" wheels from 16" to 17-1/2".

Built for Reliability: Tested and Certified for Safety

This axle assembly meets CSA, QAI, and SAE-N standards for performance and safety. Each unit is welded using a patented process that makes the spindle connections 40% stronger than conventional welds. The result is consistent braking, proper load handling, and peace of mind on every haul.

Ready to Build or Replace: Exact Dimensions for Easy Fit

With a 95" hub-face-to-hub-face length and an 80" spring-center-to-spring-center spacing, this axle comes ready for standard trailer builds or replacements. Spring seats and spindles are already welded on, so setup is straightforward. Whether you’re fabricating a new trailer or replacing a worn-out beam, it gives you the strength and precision to get back on the road quickly.

The axle and spring seat are doing well after a year. Even with my shade-tree mechanic welding abilities and thousands of grueling miles thru some of the roughest highways in North America (namely West Virginia) both are holding up to the task.

by:

While the axle and components were a good value, the condition of the brakes when I received them was poor. Several internal components were either out of position or had come loose (during shipping?) In any event, I ended up having to rebuild the brake hardware to get it to function properly. I will also add, that shipping this "bundle" with manually adjustable brakes is unfortunate as the drop axle makes accessing the adjustment star very difficult. Fortunately for me, I had assembled the axle assembly prior to installation. While challenging to do the initial brake shoe adjustment while up on sawhorses in my garage, at least I wasn't under the trailer trying to do it. As I am not the only person voicing this concern, I feel confident in saying that I wish eTrailer could come up with a design that doesn't have this issue.

by:

The axle and brakes were a perfect fit. All of the parts I needed were included and installation was straight forward. I could not be happier.

by:

I ordered two axles to upgrade my trailer capacity to what the frame is rated for, 12,000lbs. The axles have great bearing seats and backing plate studs. The backing plates are fully assembled and ready to connect to the wires already installed into the axle tubes. The hub assembly went smooth and only one set of break shoes needed adjustment. A good buy along with the 5 fully assembled tires and wheels.

by:

Buying the kit complete was a good decision. It showed up early than predicted and having the grease and wires already in place shows your professionalism. I would recommend this product and company to everyone in the market.

Arrived when expected everything was as described

Delivery was fast, fit perfectly hubs and brakes went together easily.

by:

I ordered one everything went together. Great I have. Another trailer just like this one needs axles on it and I will order them. Very nice people to do business with.

by:

The new axel came packaged really well and protected. Fit perfect with no problems and looked that the bearings came packed and in the hub assembly. Only thing would be nice is to have it come with new washer/castle nut/cotter pin.

by:

IN THE VIDEOS FOR THIS PRODUCT AND ALL THE PHOTOS, IT SHOWS THIS AS A FULLY ASSEMBLED UNIT. WHEN IT CAME THE AXLE CAME AND THEN THE BRAKES, HUBS, AND ACCESSORIES CAME SEPERATE AND NEEDS TO BE ASSEMBLED INSTEAD OF JUST INSTALLATION.

by:

This is a big improvement on my existing 3500# axle. I like that the y routed the brake wires through the tube rather than on the outside.

  • 7k Trailer Axle Needed With A 95" Hub Face And 80" Spring Center
Hi Benito, Even though it's super close that 3/4" difference can cause issues since the spring seats must line up with the hangers welded to the frame rails. We do offer the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles # e88GR which has a 7k capacity, 95" hub face, and 80" spring center. The spindles on this axle use bearings # 25580 (inner) and # 14125A (outer) and grease seal # GS-2250DL. You'll want to verify if your current hubs use the same bearings and seals, otherwise you'll need...

  • Replacement Axle for 2017 Grand Design Solitude 300GK 5th wheel
Hello J S. In order to recommend the correct replacement axle for your 2017 Grand Design Solitude 300GK 5th wheel I need a more information about the axle/or axles. There should be an axle tag on the axle itself with the information listed. I would need to know the axle capacity, the hub face to hub face measurement, and also the spring center to spring center measurement. Sometimes the axle tag can fall off or be too worn to read, if this is the case I am attaching 2 help articles, the...

  • Looking For Replacement Axle For 25' Utility Trailer
Hello Dave, thanks for reaching out. You are correct that mobile home axles are not intended to be re used. They are made for getting a mobile home to its destination. People love to try to re use them because they are cheap and readily available, but often times they use oddball bearings and hubs and traditional trailer hubs will not fit. That said, we may have a replacement axle for you. Our highest rated axle is 7,000 lb rated like part # e83SR. This has a 95" hub face measurement and...

  • What Info is Needed to Pick Out Replacement Axles for Travel Trailer
Hey Keith, so to pick out replacement axles it comes down to the dimensions of the axle you need and the capacity. The dimensions you need to know are the hub face to hub face dimension as well as the spring seat to spring seat dimension. If you can get me that I can see which axle would fit. Keep in mind we don't have every axle configuration so you may need to find a local trailer shop to you who can order them in. For example the axle part # e83SR is a 7k axle that is 95 inches long...

  • Looking For Dexter Axle, Brakes, Hubs And Leaf Springs For RV
Hello Brent, thanks for reaching out. We do have the hubs and brakes for Dexter 7K axles, but I am sorry to say we do not offer an axle that matches your specifications. We currently offer only two sizes of 7K axle, a 94" or 95" hub face. We can provide brakes, hubs and a suitable replacement for the leaf spring. Take a look at the following: - Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes - 12" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 7K # 23-464-465 - Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 7K...

  • Looking For Replacement Axles For 2005 Keystone Zeppelin
Hello Randy, thanks for reaching out. I am happy to look into it and see if we have an axle replacement for you. I will need more specific information on the axle though. Mainly I will need to know the weight capacity of the current axle, as well as the hub face (HF) length and the spring center (sc) length. Sometimes this info is on the axle sticker, so if you want to email me a picture of that I am happy to take a look. Or if you happen to know the weight capacity, HF, and SC length...

  • Recommended Axle for a 80" Wide Trailer Frame
Hey John, you are correct. Those spring hangers on the frame are where you're going to want the spring centers on your axle. As far as hub face to hub face measurements go, do you have fenders or is this a basic frame you're going to build a trailer around? If you do not have fenders a 90" hub face is going to work perfectly. It still might if you do have fenders, I would just need to know the distance between the outer edge. I've listed a couple of axle options below that include hubs...

  • Best Way To Add Brakes To 1984 Chevy Pickup Trailer Conversion
Hello Lee, thanks for reaching out. There is no conversion kit made for this, so you best option would be to replace the pickup axle with a trailer axle. This will likely mean new tires and wheels too. We offer axles that may work for you, but I would need to know more specifically what weight capacity and length of axle you need. Axles are measured across from hub face to hub face. For example, the # e83SR axle has a 95" hub face measurement and comes fully loaded with brakes and 8-lug...

  • Looking For Axle With 82" Spring Center
Hello Robert, thanks for getting in touch. The closest thing we have to that is an 80" spring center axle like part # e68GR. This axle measures 95" long from hub face to hub face. What hub face measurement do you need for your axle? I ask because if we can match the HF length, we can sell you a few loose spring seats # TRSS300 and you can have them welded on in your desired location. Keep in mind the axle comes with spring seats pre-welded at 80" so those would have to be cut off and removed....

Just reply to the email that brought you to this page. I will be looking for a few things on the sticker. Specifically the weight capacity, hub face (HF) length, and spring center (SC) length. • Differences in the Dexter and etrailer 7,000 lbs Axles w/ 8 on 6-1/2 Hubs
The Dexter item # 8327834-EB is the top of the line option and by far the best choice out of the two. The etrailer item # e83SR is our economically priced option for people who are on a budget or replacing an axle on an older trailer. The axles are similar but the hubs and drums are not as good as the Dexter ones. The brake pads and thickness of the hubs are where you get the additional cost and quality from. Dexter's brakes and hubs are far superior in construction and material. Both...

  • How to Tell if 8K etrailer Axles Will Fit Trailer
To determine whether or not the 8K Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # e83SR will fit your trailer you'll need to take hub-face and spring-center measurements.
