Features to know about

Stuck on Ice or Packed Snow: V-Bar Studs Bite Through Hard Surfaces

When the road turns to ice or you’re dealing with hard-packed snow, the V-bar studs on these chains dig in and grip where smooth links would slide. Each cross chain has twist links with welded V-bars that break through frozen crust to keep you moving forward. They’re built for traction in serious winter weather—on-road or off—and make it possible to climb, steer, and stop with confidence even when the conditions are rough.

Dig Into Deep Snow and Mud: Ladder Pattern Keeps Forward Momentum

The ladder-style layout gives strong, consistent traction as you drive forward through deep snow or soft ground. It helps prevent wheel spin and keeps your vehicle pulling ahead even when the tires start to sink. This pattern is especially useful for plowing, reaching remote property, or pulling out of a muddy stretch after a thaw.

Built to Handle Harsh Winter Use: Nickel Manganese Alloy Steel Resists Wear

Made from nickel manganese alloy steel, these chains are designed to take the punishment of cold, salt, and rough terrain. The hardened links hold up to repeated use and resist corrosion, so they won’t rust out after just one season. That durability means you can count on them whether you’re clearing driveways all winter or tackling steep icy grades in the mountains.

No Cams to Come Loose: Simple, Secure Manual Connection

These chains skip the cams and levers that can work loose in rough terrain. You hook them tight—front and back—and they stay put. When you need an even snugger hold, rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) can be added for extra tension. The straightforward manual setup gives a solid, reliable grip without worrying about parts slipping free.

Ready for Serious Weather: Fits 15" to 17" Tires and Includes 2 Chains

Each set includes two chains built for tires ranging from 15" to 17" with 5.5 mm (0.218") thick links. They’re corrosion resistant, heavy duty, and meant for those days when the snow piles up high and the road disappears under ice. For anyone heading into deep winter zones, these chains are a dependable traction tool that gets you there and back safely.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Great product works as described. Keeps us going in the snow back country roads Utah.

Shipping is slower than expected other than that great customer service and love the chains

Great product and price...

I’m impressed. These tire chains are the real deal. I looked at various options online, Amazon, etc. I found etrailer. First, the web page is packed with info, tutorials, etc. once I ordered there was continuous communication. I downgraded from a 4x4 to a 4x2, and drive up to Buffalo, NY, from coastal Carolina. These chains are impressive and will provide traction and ease of mind going through the snow belt areas along Lake Erie and parts of the blue ridge mountains. I’ve hit heavy snow on this trip and wished I had a good tire chain. This resolved it. Installing is a breeze be sure to get the tire chain adjusters with them! Excellent service!

by:

These titan snow chains with the v bars are perfect for any cold weather conditions. I’ve used them on my 2000 Nissan Frontier in deep snow and on dirt mountain roads with steep inclines that were covered with about an inch of ice below 5-6inches of snow. 2 pairs of chains would work better for those types of extreme conditions but 1 pair got me where I needed to be! I’ll be ordering an extra set for sure!

by:

These chains are well built. My 1 ton truck was in 6” deep snow when I chained up. The truck was able to tractor right up A steep hill. The binder is stout steel, not a stamped piece prone to bending. I used rubber tensioners. The combo worked great. All of my use has been off pavement this far. I bought two sets and would do it again.

by:

Heavy duty well made. I bought these because I got my 37 foot travel trailer stuck in the mud and needed to push it uphill in reverse. After 3 failed attempts I ordered these and easily had enough traction to move a 10,000 lbs trailer. Very good quality.

by:

The chains I ordered were delivered on the date promised. They were well packaged and undamaged. These chains are for the front axle of my 4WD tractor. The tractor has R4 tires that are worthless in snow, and I think these chains will vastly improve my traction. I installed the chains and with some adjustment they are just right size wise. I will test them when we get the next snow that needs to be plowed. Excellent transaction and product from etrailer.

High quality. Great fit. Best chains I've owned.

by:

Fits good.

by:

I haven’t had to use them yet. I went through them and checked them out and I think they are really good

by:

Great product service and advice. Fast shipping

by:

Fit real nice. Easy to install. Great price, and fast free shipping.

by:

Fit my truck as they should, and have a nice carry bag. Thank you for the prompt shipping. As always, the quality of your products meets my expectations.

by:

I have not used yet but they are built heavy duty and everything looks very straight and even.

by:

Exactly what we were looking for - fit the Sprinter tires perfectly. We also ordered Titan Chain Ra10 Rubber Tire Chain Adj to keep the chains snug on the tire. Shipment and delivery was extremely fast - we received it two days after placing the order!

by:

Well made, however the rear wheel clearance at the front inner side is questionable. Very close, maybe get a finger between chain and plastic inner fender. But I bought them for emergency use if need when plowing my driveway, and if kept tight may not cause a problem. Will have to check constantly and keep loose ends tied fast to rest of chains. Clearance might not be a problem with lifted vehicles. Am using on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with oem tire size (but with Bridgestone Dueler AT ).

I am impressed with the Titan Snow Tire Chains I purchased recently. They appear to be well made and sturdy. They fit my tires and were easy to install. The V-Bar links allow me to drive into the woods with the confidence that I will be able to return home safely.

  • V-Bar Snow Chains that Fit LT245/75R16
The Glacier Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners # PWH2821SC that you referenced is a confirmed fit for the LT245/75R16 tire size you have and because of that would not require taking any measurements. Due to how the chains fit on tires there really isn't a good way to measure them to determine what size tire they would fit so relying on fit info from manufacturer is best option. We do sell replacement cross chains for this with the part # TC6860. For a similar chain to this one that does...

  • Do Snow Tire Chains For 245/75-16 Tires Have Specific Length
Snow tire chains for your vehicle with size 245/75-16 tires are going to have different lengths, it just depends on the tire chain. The reason for that is there are so many different chains, and they are designed to fit numerous different sizes of tire, depending on the chain. The best way to choose the tire chain is to find one that fits your tire as well as your needs. For example, if you wanted something that was easy to install, used on normal snow or ice and was Class S compatible...

  • Best Tires to Use for a 14,000-Pound Tandem Axle Carrying an Emergency Generator
With a tandem axle carrying 14,000 pounds, four tires with load range of F (3960 pounds at 110 psi) are your best bet. I recommend the Kenda Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Tire, part # AM10501. It has a speed rating of 81 mph and a computer-generated tread for maximum traction. I've linked to a video review of this tire for your consideration. If you need the tire with a wheel, we have a similar combination, part # AM35099, also by Kenda. It's a load range of F (3960 pounds at 95 psi) with...

  • Recommended Adjuster for Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains
The Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster # TCMA2 that you referenced has been well reviewed by our customers and there is not an inherent problem that we are aware of. I would recommend that you keep the adjusters inside because the cold can also cause issues with rubber. There is another adjuster available for your Titan Snow Chains # TC2821 that I recommend you take a look at if you do not want to use the rubber version. • Titan V-Bar Snow Tire Chains for 245/75-16 Tires
Although they do offer a fit, the Titan # TC2828 chain you'd looked at won't fit a 245/75-16 tire. I'd recommend either the Titan Snow Tire Chains with V-bar links, part # TC2821 or the same chain with cam tighteners, part # TC2821CAM. The V-bar chains are excellent for deep snow or ice. The V-bars do a great job of biting into slick surfaces for superior traction. Even if you go with the model that features the cam tighteners, it's still a good idea to use a set of tensioners like # TCMA2...

  • Off Road Tire Chains for 1989 Chevy Suburban
According to Titan Chain, the # TC2221CAM are not designed for off-road use due to the composition of the steel used to manufacture the chain links. For on and off road use, the Titan # TC2221 twist link chains would be a better choice. For better snow and ice traction for on or off road, the V-bar links used on # TC2821 will really bite into the ice and provide great traction. Also recommended are adjusters like # TCOA2 which will keep the chains tightly in place on the tire. The chains...

  • Will the Titan Chain # TC2821 Fit My LT245 75R 16 Tires on My 2003 Chevy Silverado?
Yes! The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains - Ladder Pattern - V-Bar Links # TC2821 fit the LT245 75R 16 tires on your 2003 Chevy Silverado. For taking the headache out of having to adjust the chains after each trip, I recommend the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Adjusters # TCMA2. These adjusters also make fitting the chains on the tire much easier. As with all tire chains, it is important to consult with your Chevy owner's manual to make sure that you are abiding by all guidelines when it comes to...

Before purchasing you'll want to doublecheck your tire size to see if it's a match and you'll want to check your manual to make sure you can use tire chains on the front wheels.
