Features to know about

Peace of Mind for Winter Trips: Lightweight Cables That Stay Ready When You Need Them

These Titan Chain cable tire chains are perfect to keep in your trunk when you’re traveling through mountain passes or areas that require chains on hand. Because they’re low profile and lightweight, they don’t take up much space and are easy to handle when the snow starts falling. They’re made for light snow and occasional use—just enough to get you where you need to go safely without the bulk of heavy chains.

Smooth Driving in Light Snow: Roller Links Provide Steady Traction

When the roads are covered with a few inches of snow, the ladder-style roller links wrap around your tires to give solid forward traction. The low-carbon steel rollers offer a smoother ride than bulky chain links, giving you better grip without the harsh vibration. It’s a dependable setup for getting through icy neighborhoods or slushy roads around town.

Made for Tight Wheel Wells: SAE Class S Compatible

If your car has limited clearance around the tires, these cables are built to fit. They meet SAE Class S standards, meaning they work on vehicles where space between the tire and wheel well is tight. The slim design helps avoid contact with suspension parts or brake lines while still delivering that extra bit of winter traction when it matters.

Simple to Get On and Off: Manual Connection Without Extra Tools

You won’t have to fight with levers or complicated tensioning systems. Just feed the cable through the steel channel, connect the ends, and you’re set. Rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be added for a snug fit. The design makes it easy to install or remove the cables quickly—even if it’s your first time using tire chains.

Step 1 of tire chain installation showing cable chains laid out on the ground to check for twists or kinks before installation.

Step 2 tire chain installation image showing how to drape the cable chain over the tire or drive onto it.

Step 3 of tire chain installation showing connection of rear side cable behind the tire.

Step 4 of tire chain installation showing user securing excess cable through the metal clip.

Step 5 of tire chain installation showing fastening of front side cable on the tire.

Step 6 of tire chain installation showing rubber adjusters attached in a star pattern for proper tension.

Built for Occasional Winter Use: Low-Carbon Steel Construction

Each cable is made from low-carbon steel for reliable strength in light snow driving. The set includes two tire chains and comes with a 30-day limited warranty. Dry them after each use before storing to keep them ready for the next storm.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Video Transcript for Feature Review Titan Chain Cable Tire Chain

Colin: Hey, everyone. It's Colin here at etrailer, and today, we're going to take a look at the line of Titan Chain cable snow tire chains. Now, there's a variety of sizes to fit your specific tire, so make sure you enter your year, make, model of your vehicle in our fit guide, and enter your tire size. It'll lead you to the one that'll correctly fit your tire. Now, it's always a good idea to keep a set of chains in your vehicle, and with these cable chains, these are something that's going to be a really good investment for if you live in an area where during the winter months you're only going to be getting snow or ice a couple of times over the winter months. These are going to just give you that extra traction through those lighter conditions. Now, if you live in an area where over the winter months you're getting really heavy snow or ice storms a lot during the winter months, I'd recommend maybe looking into a more heavy-duty set of steel chains. Titan Chain makes plenty of those, and we have them available here at etrailer, but again, back to these cable chains.

These are going to do very well through those lighter snow and ice conditions. These chains are also going to be a really economical choice, so you can have that safety net in the back of your vehicle in case you ever we're to encounter one of those lighter snow and ice situations. To be honest, with those set of steel chains, if you try to use those in lighter conditions, it's going to make for a very rough ride. It's going to wear down on the chain much quicker than these steel rollers will. The steel rollers, along with the low profile chain, make for a very smooth ride for having a set of chains on your tire. Now, each tire chain isn't specifically designed for one size tire. Each set of chains is going to fit a variety of tire sizes in a range.

Now, you can see that they're pretty loose on our tire right now, and we do have them really as tight as we can go, but that's where these rubber adjusters come in handy. These are sold separately here at etrailer. I highly recommend picking up a set if you're going to grab some cable chains as well. What these are going to do is pull down and keep tension on your chains and keep them snug against your tire, so you get a much smoother ride and keep getting that good traction. Let's go and show you how to install them real quick. It's really pretty simple.

You can see how it's pulling on each side to help make sure we get that traction that we need. You can see right there. Now, our chains are much tighter on our tire, so we're ready to hit the road. Now, the base of the chain isn't actually a chain. It's this really durable cable, and this cable is making up, like I said, the entire base all the way around and the cross-links. The cross-links are going to be kind of covered with all these low-carbon steel rollers.

Like I said, the roller makes for a very smooth ride, gives you that extra traction that you need, and the low-carbon steel construction is going to be very tough and durable. It's also going to resist rust and corrosion. These chains are also going to be classed as certified, meaning they're great for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance, which isn't necessarily the case for our SUV. Right here, you can see I've got plenty of space, but for smaller vehicles like sedans, maybe even vehicles where you bought some bigger tires, and it's taking up more space in the wheel well, these are going to be a great option. The chains do have a ladder pattern design, meaning they're forming these cross-links all throughout the chain. They are going to be very effective for starts and stops, and you do want to keep in mind that they do have a speed rating of 30 miles per hour, so just make sure you're keeping it slow out there and staying safe. We do get this nice durable case that makes for very easy storage when they're not in use. You can just roll them up, throw them in here, and then toss it in the back of your vehicle. Now, whenever you get a new set of chains, whether it's these Titan Cable chains or any other sets you might get, I always recommend getting it out of the bag or the case, practicing installing them on your vehicle before you go out into the weather. If you're in your driveway or in your garage, practice using them so that when you get out in those situations, if you run into any problems, you'll know how to work through them. Now, I'll go ahead and walk you through that install process right now. Now, the first thing you want to do is lay your cable chains out, and just check them over for any tangles or kinks or twists. Get all those out. After you've used them a couple of times, it's never a bad idea just to go ahead and check for any broken links or rollers. With these being new chains, and if you've only used them a few times, then you're probably not going to have to worry about that. What we'll do is just grab them and then drape them over the top insides of our tire. Now, here on the backside, we need to make our first connection. That's just feeding this cable into the channel right there. We want to get it as tight as we can. We got to the second one, and that should do for now. If we go to the front and we find that it's still a little loose, we can come back and tighten it up a little more. Let's go to the front side and do the same thing.Just feed it through. We're at the second one right there, which is the same number we did on the backside, but if we want to, we can go one more up. That seems to do the trick and keep our chains snug. See if we can go to the fourth. Looks like we can, so that does get our chains a little bit tighter. However, per the instruction, we want to make sure we're staying within one. So from here, you have the option of going back to the third or going back to the backside and adjusting it, whichever way you feel more comfortable with. We're going to go ahead, go to the backside, and make that adjustment. Now, if you decided to get the optional rubber tensioner, go ahead and throw that on as well. Then from there, go ahead and repeat this process for the other side. Once you've done all that, you're going to be ready to hit the road.Well, I hope this information helped you guys out, but that's going to do it for our look at the line of Titan Chain cable snow tire chains.

I won't be able to test the quality of the tire chains until winter. That is, however, if we get any snow. The price was very good and the order process and tracking system were one of the best I've ever used. Good job, E-Trailer!

Only had to use them once, on donners pass. It was my first time using Tire chains on a car ever, 2015 Toyota prius. It took me 2 minutes per Tire to get them on, and about 30 seconds to get each one off. I have recommended them to coworkers of mine.

I will be traveling to CO in spring and these are required by law. These came well packaged in their own carrying case, seem to be of good quality and instructions are very clear to understand. They were purchased for my 5th wheel and I hope to never have to use them.

  • Recommended Snow Tire Chains For 2016 Toyota Corolla
The chain laws vary from state to state, so you may want to check with which states you are driving through. The snow chains come in pairs, so you will have two chains for your drive axle. Since your vehicle is front wheel drive, you will only need chains on your front tires. I looked your owners manual up online and found there are recommendations for each size tire. Class S will meet these requirements. The Titan Cable Chains, ladder pattern will meet all you legal criteria and are...
