The Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs #F4170 fit inside your existing rear coil springs to provide load-leveling support from at least 500 lbs up to 1,000 lbs. Great product. More difficult to install than I expected but not a product fault, just the complexity of getting adequate clearance and location for air tubes. Have a kink in one and a slight leak, which means replacement neccessary.

Didn’t last a month…
not for northern winters. installation is very difficult
bought this to offset trip gear weight surprised about a manufacture backorder but the folks at etrailer kept involved intill they could get me my product excellent service great product thanks for all your help

I think of myself fairly intelligent and mechanically inclined. That being said, I believe these are junk, did not work and a waste of money. The installation was very frustrating and they never worked.
These performed exactly as stated and exactly as I needed for support with pulling a camper across the country. The ride was solid and smooth. Carried a small electric pump to check pressure every few days. I did the install my self in my garage and it was a lot of work and took a lot of time (6hrs) to get it right. Was happy with the outcome.
Excellent price and quick, free shipping. The Firestone Air Springs are a proven product, my sister-in-law and her husband have had them for years, so I know they will do the job. I just received them, read the instructions, and see that it will be an easy install.
Airbag installation wasn't very simple. Recommend taking the springs off the vehicle. this will help make the airbag installation much simpler. May take additional time, but trust me, I tried every other option. The bump stops are pretty easy to remove. Must cut them in half to get them out easily. Utilize the t connector for the air bags to ensure the same PSI is in both.

The concept itself is great. I took my time with the installation and it was completed professionally. The system worked awesome for about 4 months then lost all the air and hasn't worked since due to leaks. The bags are decent but the plastic lines are cheap. Not worth the aggravation.
product is pretty easy to install, but in cold climates the airlines loosen up and pop off airbag stem. causing damage to airline. if you do buy this product I recommend buying the "T" line connector that way both airbags maintain conssistant air pressure.
I was going to use my 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe to tow my pop-up camper for the first time and during the test drive decided that the suspension was a little bouncy, so I ordered the Coil-Rites. Very happy with them. They installed quickly (I watched the installation video on e-trailer.com a couple of times) and in less than an hour I was ready to go with a much improved ride. I highly recommend the Coil-Rite's and etrailer.com. This was my second purchase and each time I was extremely satisfied with the experience. I will buy from them again.
Highly recommend removing the coils from the vehicle. Due to the shape of the upper support of the 2015 Hyundai SantaFe its very difficult to achieve a seal with the 90 degree valve at the top. Tried to reinstall and ultimately gave up and reinstalled the factory bump stops. The brass barb fitting connecting the blue hose kept leaking even though it was a factory seal. (I tried recutting, heating and repressing it to no avail.) Purchased other hardware (F3438) that should work to modify the kit, but havent found the time to install yet. The F3438 is a solid 90 degree fitting counting on a proven connection to the plastic tubing. IMO the kit should automatically come with this fitting.
I must say the product was sold a great price, and delivered quickly. It installed easily following the directions and performed as expected. It handled the extra load on the 2012 Sante Fe and kept the ride smooth and level on our 1,200 mile rides.
I do question the installation instruction as to the length of the stub tube under the elbow (at the top of the air bag). Installed it appeared the elbow was bent over at a very sharp angle and I fear a kink developing in the tube (though there is no problem to date and perhaps the little extra length prevents the kinking ?). They have been installed around 5 months now and have around 8,ooo miles on them.
I have delt with e trailer before and will again....HIGHLY recommended

The Santa Fe 2007-2009 has WAY to soft a rear suspension. In the UK they even have an OEM self leveling kit! But on in NA...So I bought the F4170 kit.Had it installed by a pro in June 2012.The mechanic last year did not trust the tubes or the connections. Felt like it was toys stuff. Not meant for 35lbs of pressure, not automotive grade.But it worked!What a different that made! It was great, my car behaved great even when fully loaded. It was an awesome solution, it proves the SF has a weak suspension, even though they say we it can loaded with 1100lb of gear. It was perfect, until the following spring. When I got to inflate them a year after installation, there was a leak. In both of them!! I lifted the car to check and one was totally torn open. There is a disc on top to protect the balloon, but it seems too small. Theres nothing to hold it centered, and thats probably what happened: it moved, got off center, and it could not protect the balloon from the jounce holder.For the other one, like mentioned above, the connections a weak. The mechanics calls them quick connect. Well you get the quality of a connection done quickly: not strong enough.Technically I am still under the 1 year warranty, well see. But if it was to do all over again, I probably would not choose that. Looks like I will have to repeat that every year... The thing dont last.

Made another trip to Florida since installed..LOADED..... and the airbags performed very well. Level vehicle and no real noticeable harshness in the ride. Im a happy guy.We load the car, put kayaks on the roof and put about 350 lbs in a receiver hitch style carrier and the car is level and rides nice. I have nothing negative to say. Oh, I run 45 PSI loaded like this and it works great.
This is the worst product I have ever experienced.. both in terms of installation and use. I was very excited upon receiving the product and couldn't wait to install as my SantaFe was suffering from the rear end squat upon loading up for a trip.
Before installing I gave the product a test fit to see how it would perform and here I found the first problems. The air hose wire as well as the bags were super stiff... which I later learned was going to have a major effect on the installed product. I hooked up the L-shaped connectors to the bag and upon trying to test the system for leaks I found that I wasn't able to put any any air inside. After further investigation it appeared as though the L-shaped connector wasn't reaching the air valve to depress it to allow air to enter or exit upon tightening the connectors on the valve stem of the air bags. OK not a super big deal.. I got rid of the valves in the airbag as the only valves that really mattered were the valves on the end of the line where I would fil up the system air near the bumper.
Upon installing the system onto my car which was a process that took many hours, I quickly realized that the system wont last for too long. The who system is not stable inside the shock.. the pillow moves around as the shock experiences vibration as it travels down the road. Also the L-shaped connectors barely clear the black puck like discs and its very hard to tighten them down on to the air bag. Also on installation there isn't enough room in the cavity for the wire to come out properly to the hole that was drilled causing it to either wrap in a spiral or it creates a kink in the line causing the line to crack over time as the L-shape connector creates a 90 degree angle... I have now idea who designed it this way..why not use a straight up connector and softer air lines.
After the install the lines lasted maybe 2 weeks before the system went total flat. Upon looking at it both sides had their lines crushed and cut allowing air to escape. One side had an air leak right by the L-shaped connector (in the hose) and the other side developed a leak in the hose near where the drilled hole was the hole was too small to give the super stiff hose enough clearance to freely move as the air bag was moving up and down with the suspension spring as the car was being used. The holes were drilled to spec.
I tried fixing the system 2 times following the initial install but similar problems continued. I enlarged the holes and changed the lines to clear flexible tubbing, and tossing out the L-shaped connector. I had minor success but the tubing eventually comes loose or gets worn out. The biggest problem is that the black puck should be attached to the bottom of the suspension cavity and the air bag to it... but without being able to find the proper inline screw on cap connector I resulted to attaching the clear tubing to the treads of the air pillow with crazy glue and Teflon tape. Part of the problem is that the whole assembly air bag and black puck just kind of float in the
inside the spring of the suspension and are in constant movement up and down as the bag itself once inflated travels up and down as the spring gets compressed. It appears the air hose also serves to keep the who system in line which it does not. Eventually small leaks develop and the system gets flat. I have wasted too much time on this but I will try to fix it again this summer for the last time. Hope this helps someone out.. I have had terrible experience with this. cheers

The installation of this kit is a more involved installation. I would not recommend removing the valves in the air bags though I understand that it worked in the short term. I recommend watching the video installation that we completed on a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Okay, first of all. I have had this type of air spring helper bag before on several vehicles so I'm fairly familiar with how they are setup and work. Ordered this kit, good pricing, fairly fast ship..... And then the fun began. I did watch a video on the install. Looked pretty straight forward but with these latest polyurethane bags it looked like it would be a challenge to just "push" these through the springs AND get your hands in there to connect them. Oh, well I gave it a shot and sure enough one of the brass L shaped fittings for the bag just snapped off in my hand! Etrailer did address this and sent me new lines. And I'll be honest here.... threw everything back in the box and let it set for another month. Okay, let's do it again, MY WAY, this time. I dropped the rear coils completely this time, easily fed in the bags with the lines PREATTACHED, put the coils back in place and finished up the rest of the install. It's up to you....but I think just dropping the coils completely takes less time and you'll end up with a neater install.
Oh, and here's the best part....these things are awesome on these long wheelbase Hyundai Santa Fe's. These SUVs don't have enough springing in the back to begin with. If you pull a trailer or hall a lot of tools, etc., in the back, trust me, you will see "extra" tire wear because that rear suspension will be sitting on the snubbers a great deal of the time. By going from around 10 to 30 psi I have a great deal of control over both ride height and improved stability in tow and heavy haul situations. I would recommend them, just take your time on the install.....

Well, they still work well, however they dont hold there pressure for more than a couple of weeks. Always checking them...adding air every few weeks
We received the order in a timely manner and customer service was easy to work with but we had to return because once the mechanic looked at it and what the goal was, it was determined it was not going to fix the issue.
Is a great idea but awful material !! I think that if the quality of material is higher, this would be worth it !!
I ordered a kit and I have a professional Install it. within an hour the air was all out !!! I took back and Found that the connections were leaking . So we replace them and next day. no air (again) in the air suspensions . Found out that the air spring is defective. Is not easy to install and is harder to get it fix ,if leaks . I don’t recommend this product unless is a higher quality!! Other wise is a headache
The F4170 kit does fit a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. However installation is not quite as simple as the video. In order to remove the jounce bumper and install the air bags on our All Wheel Drive the springs needed to be removed. The instructions show a 2" piece of air line at the bag and then a 90 degree union. Make that 1.5" and the union will not hit the top of the steel jounce bumper cup. Insted of a 7/16 inch hole for the lines, go bigger and put in a grommet so the line does not rub. I went to 5/8 inch and then used 3/8 fuel line to cover the air tubing. Protects it from getting cut and from heat at the muffler. I agree that the top spacers need work. No real retention or centering on top of the bag. I put RTV silicone on the spacer and then placed it on the air bag. It centered on the bag and it should stay put. When the vehicle is off the ground and the springs are at full extension, and the jounce bumper cup does not touch the spacer. With the bigger hole, the fuel line guard, and the RTV I hope the work for a while. If not the bags are lifetime warranty and the hardware has 2 years.
Install not bad at all!!! Just a pain to do on the ground. Best thing to do with the air bag is to compress it, zip tie so it doesn’t air back up to slide between the springs not much too to work to spin the valve attachment if it opens back up inside the spring.
Definitely helped out with my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe sport with 175k the springs were worn out now it rides like brand new. As a 6’3” guy now I don’t have to bend down to get under the back door when it’s open like when it was new. Made me think I was getting taller while the car was getting smaller lol.

These air bags for my Santa Fe work great. Little more work as we had to drop shocks and drill holes for the Air line, but that's the model of vehicle. Had an air bag leak from the fitting ( not sure if that is because of how the bag is designed or an install error but they shipped me a new air bag very quickly to replace it. Been a week now and no complaints. Make all the difference with sag when towing a boat or camper. Happy customer.

After a year. The bags have held up. The little 90 air connections did not. They failed and is nearly impossible to find after market replacements. I contacted Firestone and they sent me out the new and improved air connections. Way better. MY Santa fe is not designed to have air pillows and makes design for this vehicle a challenge. I am not totally happy with how these things need to be installed, but the quality of the bags and connections are top notch.
