Hello, Russ. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2071 is indeed the kit you need for a 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 4WD Club Cab Diesel with the long bed. Keep in mind this kit is not compatible if you have an in-bed 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch. Also the distance from the outside of the frame to the inside of the tire must be at least 7-1/2" in order for this kit to work so please do measure and confirm.

I have a flatbed with a below the bed 2 5/16 ball. Will this be a problem?

@Russ The flatbed is not necessarily a problem, but the recessed gooseneck ball could be a problem. It just depends on how the flatbed and recessed ball were installed. A lot of times the brackets for the gooseneck hitch will be installed in the same place that the air bag brackets would go on the frame. I have linked the instructions for the Firestone # F2071 kit below. I suggest you take a look under your truck and compare to the diagrams in the instructions. If you see any obstructions on the frame rail above the axle then the kit will not work. If that area is free of obstructions, it will still work as long as the outside of the frame to the inside of the tire is at least 7-1/2".

@JesseM The flatbed uses the same mounts as the original factory bed. However, I will check this. Also, I couldn't help but notice that the price took a significant jump since I was looking last nite??

@Russell The flatbed will not be a problem then. Just check for any frame obstructions. Pricing does fluctuate time to time but I am really not sure what all goes into that. Maybe it will go back down soon?
