Question:
2001 Dodge ram 2500 long bed Cummins. Single rear wheel. The truck did not come with and does not have the factory 2 leaf rear overload springs. I would prefer this f2220 kit over the other kits that mount over the top of the leaf springs. Does this kit fit this truck?

Thanks for reaching out, Chad!
The kit that you referenced, # F2220, is only compatible with a 3500 - Cab and Chassis so wouldn't work for your 2500 - Pickup. The kit that would work is part # F2071. This will work on 2WD and 4WD trucks. Something to keep in mind is that it's not compatible with in-bed hitch; product mounts in same location as hitch brackets. You also need to check the distance from the outside of the frame to the inside of the tire and that it's at least 7-1/2".
There is an Air Lift kit as well, # AL57215, but it does mount on the springs as well. It's not an air bag, but the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TDR1525H4, mounts behind the leaf springs. The Timbrens are made of thick rubber, so you might experience a rougher ride when the truck isn’t loaded. Air bags can affect your unloaded ride too, but typically not as much as the Timbrens.
Lastly we do offer the add a leaf spring but based off what you were looking at, I don't thing that's going to be the best way to go.
What are you going to be towing and how often? I'll be able to give a better suggestion based off that if you really want something that it's above the leaf springs.
