Features to know about

Keep the Rear End Level and Confident: Up to 1,000 lbs of Load-Leveling Support

Heavy loads can make the back end sag, throwing off steering, braking, and headlight aim. The Air Lift 1000 system adds up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support to your rear coil spring suspension so the vehicle stays level under cargo or trailer weight. This keeps handling predictable, braking even, and ride height steady for safer travel whether you’re hauling gear or towing a full load.

Tune Your Suspension for Every Trip: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 35 psi

Every load is different, and these molded polyurethane air springs let you dial in support for each one. Inflate or deflate manually between 5 psi and 35 psi to match your setup—firm when loaded, soft when running light. With dual air lines installed, you can even inflate each spring independently to level off-center loads and fine-tune balance side to side.

Smooth Out Rough Roads and Reduce Sway: Added Support Inside Coil Springs

Road dips and cornering forces can make a fully loaded vehicle bounce or sway. These air springs fit neatly inside the existing rear coils to absorb road shock and cut down on body roll. The added cushion improves ride quality while reducing strain on tires and factory suspension components, keeping everything planted through turns and over uneven pavement.

Straightforward Installation for DIYers: Complete Kit with Valves and Hardware

This system installs inside your rear coil spring suspension using standard tools. The kit includes two air springs, heat shields, tubing, Schrader valves, and all necessary hardware. Manual inflation valves are typically mounted on the bumper for easy access, and optional compressor systems can be added later for in-cab pressure control. With simple routing and clear instructions, setup is direct enough for a weekend driveway install.

by:

Great product fast shipping super seller

by:

I have not used the product yet.Instructions are very good, but air bags very difficult to get in the springs. Install time was about 2 hours.

by:

It was as advertised. I particularly like the detailed instructions that clearly covered the installation. Pictures in the diagrams were clear and appropriate. The product is to be used to maintain a level ride without rear end sagging of my van. This will eliminate headlight misalighnment from luggage during family trips.

doing what it was designed for, Thanks again for excellent product

by:

Customer Service, great! I called 4:45 PM and needed the airbags the next day. I paid for overnight shipping and had them by 2:00 PM the next day.

Product, great! I can't comment on installation because I had mechanic install. But two days later, I drove 2,000 miles with six adults and the 2010 Grand Caravan drove better than brand new. I recommend 30 PSI for a full load, 15 for empty van.

by:

shipment was very prompt. air bags installation went well. Helped my camper swaying problem. does not sway anymore. Tried swayback but camper still swayed over 60 miles a hour. Now can go 70 with no problem with the camper swaying.

by:

The installation instructions was very easy to follow. It only took 2 hours from start to finish. As a DIYer just be cautious when lowering the the jack or raising the springs into position. You must ensure the air line is moving thru the rubber washer and not getting pinched.

by:

Great product. Just what I needed for my Chrysler Town&Country. I tow a small popup camper and these fit the bill. Installation was quite easy. The air hose cutter I purchased was a great asset to the installation. Have had them on for about a year now and no problems.

by:

Good product. Clear instructions and the video on e-trailer really makes the installation easy to understand. On my '08 Grand Caravan my shock absorber bolts were rusted in place and could not be removed. I worked around this by unbolting the top shock brackets from the body. Other than that the installation was fairly easy and just like the video shows.

by:

1 year later, this setup continues to work well on our 2015 Ram CV Tradesman minivan. We regularly tow a 3700 lb trailer with it, and the rear suspension does not sag at all with the air bags set to 25psi.

by:

Very satisfied!! I have an 08 town and country. I haul 7 adults 200 miles daily. Rear bumper was almost touching the ground until I installed these bad boys. Was very easy to install. I recommend using some glue at all the fittings of the air lines. I used a spry adhesive. Had the air bags in use for about a month now. No leaks and handles great.

by:

New air bags came quickly by courier and look great. Will be installing this week. Thanks Etrailer.

The air bags are working great. What a difference when we hook up our vintage travel trailer, put a couple of more pounds in the bags and up goes the rear of our tow vechicle. Thanks etrailer, Love them. Five on five.

by:

These are difficult to install and failed to deflate after one use. What we found is that he air hoses above the air bags are just narrow enough to pass through protective rubber hole liners that are provided with the kit. The hose catches and kinks which then prevented the air bags from deflating. I had to have my mechanic dissemble the entire set up and customize the hole for the hose and add a custom liner for the hole to prevent the problem. The installation, plus modification cost me more than the cost of the airlift product. My mechanic had installed these types of air bags on several other vehicles. In fact, it was the mechanic who recommended a suspension airbag system for my Dodge Grand Caravan minivan after I attached a trailer hitch with cargo carrier. It's a great idea, but this product version is not designed for trouble-free use.

by:

I like this system it makes our van safer when we are loaded and headed to the lake. Thank you!

by:

The air lifts work great. They leveled my van as advertised. I would rate them a five if they would hold the air pressure. I have tried everything to stop them from leaking down but it seems it is an impossible task. I would not recommend them for towing long distances.

Yes, I did the air lines over sealing each joint and I have not had air deflation since. I am now very satisfied with this product. I have towed over 20,000 miles and have had no problem.

by:

Works as advertised

Everything arrived in a timely manner. I installed the product using the video. Installation was relatively easy. We'll see how the air lift system works over time, for now all seems well.

  • Air Bag Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan
Hey Curtis, we have an air bag suspension enhancement kit that fits your 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan with the Firestone part # F4169 but the Air Lift you mentioned would not work as it's not correct size. Firestone makes probably the best air bags around though so this will work great.

The best hitch for your 2008 Chrysler Town and Country for carrying a wheelchair carrier like you mentioned would be the etrailer # e98854 which has the best tongue weight capacity and has a mostly hidden appearance which looks the best and also helps with ground clearance. In the description it says max GTW with weight distribution is 5,000 lbs which is a system that distributes some tongue weight up to the front axle which increases the weight capacity. • Best Way to Provide Power to Electric Trailer Tongue Jack
In a typical RV-style 7-way the 12V charge circuit is carried on the pin at the 1-o-clock position as you look at the socket from the rear of the vehicle. Please refer to the linked photo. The 12V feed from a vehicle 7-way can deliver just enough trickle-charge current to maintain a strong battery while you're on the road, but it is not the best way to power a trailer jack. The best way to power a trailer-mounted 12V tongue jack, like the Stromberg Carlson # SC63VR, is to install a dedicated...

The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60814 will not require the upper supports like the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4169 on your 2012 Chrysler Town and Country. You do not have to worry about the bags being cut on either kit. The bags are designed to flex and will not cut inside the springs from normal use. Both kits also feature a lifetime warranty on the bags incase there is a issue with them for you later down the road. I do prefer the Air Lift air line being ran...

Be sure not to exceed the towing capacity of your vehicle though and you should note that these kits do not allow you any more towing capacity than what the vehicle is rated for.

In general, a properly selected and installed weight distribution system like the Reese Strait-Line # RP66082 will do more to improve the overall towing quality of a trailer than a set of rear air bags in the tow vehicle.
