Ellen: Hi everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at The Kwikee T-style Door Holder with Bumper for RVs. This is an easy way to hold the door open so you can load in your gear, your equipment, groceries whatever the case might be. We'll have this little rod that's going to come out and then get captured by the holder on the other side. So this will be mounted onto our door and then this would be mounted onto our wall. So it just slides in that slot there, it keeps everything open so we can freely pass in and out without having that door slam shut on us.

It also comes with a bumper to make sure that if that door happens to open a little bit too wide, it's going to hit against this rubber piece rather than against your plastic piece and possibly damaging it or putting a hole in your wall or your door. And this just is going to mount over one of the founding holes so you can mount it on either side it just depends on your configuration. But this is going to be a great kit for both your entry door or maybe a compartment door really anywhere that you'd want to keep that open so you can move in and out easily. It doesn't come with any mounting hardware to get these installed so you will have picked that up on your own. I'm going to go over some measurements so you can figure out the size that you're going to.. Or if this is going to work for your situation.

The arm measures about six inches going from the center of that pivot point to the very end of the arm. Both our bases are about the same size so I'm just going to measure this one for both. This is about three inches long, the base and about one and three quarter inches wide. And then about three quarter inches thick or deep. This one is a little bit taller, it's about seven eighths of an inch tall. Our bumper is about one and seven eighths of an inch long and about one and a quarter inch tall and just about three quarters of an inch thick.

It is made of a relatively soft material or softer than the plastic, it's going to be made out of a rubber. It does have some more give to it, but it's still pretty stable. It doesn't squish too much but just helps to protect your items from getting damaged. As far as the mounting holes, center to center they're about an inch and an eighth apart going this way. And the other direction, they're about two and three eighths of an inch apart.

And then each of those is about three 16th of an inch in diameter. Our bumper is going to have that same inch and an eighth distance between its mounting holes. That's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Kwikee T-style Door Holder with Bumper.

  • What is Kwikee T-Style Door Holder for RVs Made Of
The Kwikee T-Style Door Holder for RVs - 6" Long # LC381411 is constructed from plastic. This same holder is also available with a rubber bumper at part # LC381412, which is great because that bumper will keep your door from hitting your RV so that's definitely the way I would go. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well.

  • Can the Buyers Products Door Check Be Used with a Lower Door Closer
I'll try to answer these in order for you. First, the Buyers Products Door Check and Hold Back # 337BM2395AA11 does hold the door open at a 90 degree angle with 30-lbs of pressure, so as long as it's not a heavy wind it should hold everything just fine; your lower closer should help give this some added strength and resistance against the wind as well in this case. There is not a way to lock this in place though, so it's not going give you complete resistance to wind. Second, I don't see...
