Features to know about

Stay Organized for Every Adventure: Full-Length 59" Aluminum Crossbars

When you want to bring along kayaks, cargo boxes, or camping gear, these full-length aluminum crossbars give you the space to do it right. With 59" of usable bar length and a 165-lb weight capacity, you’ll have plenty of room for multiple attachments. The aluminum construction keeps things strong but light, so you can load up confidently without adding unnecessary bulk.

Cut Down on Wind Noise: Aerodynamic Shape with Dual Rubber Strips

Wind noise can be one of the most annoying parts of driving with a roof rack. These aero-style bars have a shape that helps guide airflow smoothly, and the rubberized dual strips in the top channels reduce drag and whistling. It’s a design that makes long highway drives quieter and more comfortable.

Mount Gear Your Way: Channel-Mount and Clamp-On Compatibility

Whether it’s a kayak cradle, bike rack, or roof box, this setup works with both channel-mount and clamp-on accessories. You can use the gear you already own or mix in new accessories as your hobbies change. It’s also compatible with Rhino-Rack accessories that use the Zwifloc fastening system, adding even more flexibility to your setup.

Lock It Down When You Park: Secure Leg Covers

When you’re out on a trip or parked overnight, it’s good to know your rack is secure. The legs have lockable cover plates that keep the system attached tightly to your vehicle. It’s a simple feature that adds peace of mind when you leave your gear behind.

Built to Last Through Every Season: Durable Aluminum Construction

Rain, snow, or sun—aluminum stands up well to all kinds of weather without rusting or flaking. The black finish gives the rack a clean look while the sturdy construction keeps it reliable for years of hauling. With a 5-year warranty, this setup is built for long-term adventures.

Video Transcript for Installing the Rhino-Rack Sportz Roof Rack on a 2020 Ford F-150

Hi Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Rhino Rack roof rack with the sport bars on our 2020 Ford F-150. Now this can be a great option if you're looking for something that's gonna give your vehicle a little bit more of a rugged look and we'll give you the ability to carry a lot more accessories on your longer trips. So let's check it out. This is gonna be a custom fit option for a vehicle today. So what I recommend doing is putting in your vehicle's information into our fit guide to make sure you're giving the right one to fit your needs.

Now why go with a roof rack compared to any other way of caring accessories Because you could put things in the back of your bed. You could use a cargo carrier or even a trailer. Now if you're using your hitch for a cargo carrier or a trailer, a lot of times that's just gonna lengthen your vehicle already and the F-150 is already a longer vehicle. So if you want to save space in that direction, putting things on the top of your roof, that's gonna be the better option. And in some cases if we have a camper shell or some extra long items, let's say like a kayak, it's not gonna fit very well back there.

The better option for you is gonna be your roof like we have right here. Now with this type of roof rack, like I said, Rhino Rack makes a sports bar and this sports bar has this really aggressive tread to the very top of it. What makes it looks pretty cool in my opinion, and these are just really easy to use, With that crossbar, you can mount things a couple of different ways. You could strap things down. I think the tread up here really lends itself to that type of design.

Just make sure you have a good tie off point somewhere up here because this tread is gonna be made of rubber so it does a really good job at gripping. Or you could do the classic way where most people will have a clamp on accessory that goes up here, like a bike rack, a kayak carrier, even a roof box, that'll typically just go into place there or there is the third method. And to get a better look at that, I'll take off this end cap that's gonna reveal that we have a T-channel. And those T-channel accessories, in my opinion, just look a little bit nicer. And it is nice not to really deal with any type of clamp that goes underneath your bar.

But speaking of underneath your bar, we are gonna have our towers. And with these, they're gonna come with some lock cores. I gonna get this back into place first, there we have it, that's we'll give you extra security so no one can come by and take your stuff and if I remove that, you can kind of see what's happening underneath here. So this kind of gives us a nicer look and design to the tower. And underneath, we're gonna have the fit kit. The fit kit is gonna be comprised of this metal hook and this rubber pad on the bottom. And in my opinion, this is an important piece to most roof racks because, one, it makes sure it grabs onto your roof, but you wanna make sure there's not any big gaps underneath here. Because I've had some in the past where if there is big gaps, it just doesn't look very good. And to me, if it's more of a custom fit or more seamless fit, it just gives me more peace of mind that it's gonna do a good job staying in place. The first measurement I'm gonna get is gonna be the overall height. `So this is gonna add just about 4" to the top of your roof. Really isn't too bad, it's a little bit higher than some other options out there. But with that we get a little bit more space underneath. So that's gonna be just a little bit under 3." So even if you have a more bulky clamp style, you also have room where it's not making contact with your roof. Now if you have some type of sunroof and that expands up, definitely keep an eye on that 'cause we don't wanna make contact with those clamps. Now for the overhang we have. Right over here, I'm getting a little bit under 2." And why that's important is it lets us know if we can put any accessories at the very sides of our vehicle. So if you have anything like a roof box or a bike rack, you don't wanna have to reach too far in to gain access to those items. Now it really just depends on what those accessories are 'cause in most cases a little bit under 2," you won't be able to put a lot of larger accessories back here like your kayak carriers. But if you have anything like a ski carrier that has smaller straps, that should fit over here just fine. Now for the overall crossbar spur we have, that's gonna be the distance from the center of one to the center of another one. And this is gonna be a little bit under 32." That's pretty standard for most roof racks though most accessories should be compatible with this. Just double check if you already have that, make sure it's gonna work with that spread. Now when it comes to weight, capacity is going to have a great weight capacity, but what's most likely gonna be your limiting factor is gonna be your roof. So I'd recommend just checking that out in your owner's manual and making sure you go from the lowest rated component so you don't damage anything. Now in my opinion, I think this is gonna be a great choice and I think if you do have a camper show like we do today, you can throw a couple on the backside if that's possible because those will give you more of a platform sort \of a setup you have on your roof. And I think it just looks kind of cool. But if you don't need that much of a spread, I think this is just fine too. And you even go with some other bars that Rhino Rack has, if you want something a little bit more heavy duty, they are gonna have their HD bars. Now that's gonna be more of a square design, so it's not gonna work at with as many types of accessories out there as these. So it really just depends on what accessories you have and what they're compatible with. So at the begin of the installation, I'm gonna lay everything out. So right in front of me, we're gonna have the crossbar and closest to me, we're gonna have the clamps to our fit kit and we're gonna have the tower itself. Now with the fit kit, you're also gonna get this rubber pad. They are gonna have side-specific locations. We'll go over that later on and we're gonna have our tool so we can install everything. Now here, notice I already have one of them installed. It's gonna be the same process. We will have a few different measurements, but just make sure you have the instructions on hand so you can reference those measurements. But what we're gonna do here, where I like to start is with the crossbar. We wanna make sure that the top side is facing down. And I'm just gonna remove our end caps here by pulling on them. Sometimes I'll slide this measurement out of the way and do that. And honestly this would be a good time just to remove this completely. We'll put it back on here in a second, but we're gonna grab that tower. You're gonna have this metal block that sits on the very top of it and that block is gonna go right into this channel just like that. Then you'll reference your instructions or grab this little measurement here, kind as like a built-in ruler. I'll put that in here. Once that's in all the way, might take a few attempts to get that in there. You can either push it in from the back or just slide it in from the top. Once we match it up with the measurement in our instructions, we'll push this tower against there and sit it there. Now we'll grab our tool and then tighten this down completely, just like that. Now if you find this is a little bit too tight to get into this channel, you can start by loosening this up. In our case, we're good today. And I'll just tighten this down until this blue tab at the very top, fully straightens out. Once it's done, we're gonna repeat that on the other side. When this is in place, you're also gonna have these feet that come with them. Mine are already in place, but you'll notice an arrow on here, reference your instructions for the orientation of that arrow in conjunction to the tower with your crossbar. So in my case today, my instructions don't tell me to have this pointed out. So I'm just gonna have it in this orientation. And once I have that on there, I can move to our fit kit where we have these rubber pads. They're gonna have a similar thing going on. They're gonna have a number here. You can reference this in your instructions with an arrow that'll tell you what orientation it should be in. And then we'll just push this on top and make sure this is either on the correct side. So they will be driver and passenger side-specific. And now with everything in place, we can put this on top of our roof. And really just going to depend on which one you're working with. You're probably gonna start off with the front crossbar. Same process though and so I didn't measure anything out, I'm just kinda roughly putting into place and then we can check how it's sitting up there. Once we're done with that, we can get a couple measurements and I'll show you how to do that. So the first measurement we're gonna get is we measurement A. And in order to get measurement B, you're probably gonna have to have crossbar, the front one in place. And so what we're gonna do is again, reference your instructions. We're gonna go to this seam here where the doors meet and we're gonna go to the very front of that pad with a fit kit. Once you get that, just check on the other side and make sure it's even and then the get crossbar B measurement. What we're gonna do is measure from the center of one to the center of another one and then just adjust it. So if we need to, we can just even pull that back some and just double check and do the same thing for the other side. Now that I know where this is sitting, what I'll typically do is just check how it's sitting in this gutter near the very top. What we wanna see is it almost making contact there or is flush against this corner right here. Now if you have a larger gap like I do today, 'cause I push against it on the other side, that's gonna be a little bit around like a half inch and that's a bit more much for what I want. So what I'm gonna do is I've already put down a piece of masking tape so I know where this sits. I'm gonna take this down and just widen the distance of these towers just a little bit and put it back up here and double check. Now we can grab these clamps and I'm just gonna remove this bolt that's already attached to our tower. Once that's off of here, I'm gonna reinsert this bolt through that clamp and put this back into place. What I use too is the tool to help line it up. Use my other hand the press on the back of that nut that's in there to help align everything, Once it starts to grab on, I'm just gonna lightly tighten this up. I don't wanna fully install it quite yet because we wanted to make sure this has even pressure on either side. So just a little bit of resistance on here. Go to the other side, repeat that same process, and then just fully tighten this down, going back and forth. The way you'll be able to tell if it's fully typed down, like I said earlier, when you're turning this tool here, you'll notice it's gonna fully straighten out like that and then we can grab our end caps, put those on and lock 'em into place. You're done with that. Just give it a good old shake test, make sure it doesn't feel loose and it's not going anywhere. If it feels good, you can load it up and take it out for a ride. Now if you guys have any other questions, let us know here at etrailer, and again, I'm Matt and thanks to watching.

Looking for a roof rack for my Toyota Corolla IM 2017 and chose the Rhino rack-Vortex Aero bars combination. It is strong rack, good quality and nice finish (I picked the black color). Installation requires patience but not difficult, instructions could be more detailed. Happy with the solution it gave me, finding a good rack to transport my Mountain bike to the trail. Highly recommended!

I got the product a little later than expected and came in a huge box that ended up moving the product around a little. It is all metal though so it was mostly still in very good condition. (little scratches here and there) Took me a while to figure out the pads due to the instructions being different from the actual product but very simple in general. I could put one together in maybe 30 minutes now. Tons of videos are online which take time to watch but are very helpful. Overall install went well and very happy with look of product. I am buying accessories today for both kayaks and bikes to be mounted on. Rhino Rack is also a great company to call. They will spend all the time in the world to help you with what you need. Etrailer might do this as well but I went with Rhino Rack. Now just waiting for summer!

I put 3 stars because its a useful functional non-harmful roof rack solution for my WRX sedan. This review lost 2 stars because the rubber top pieces get damaged upon any accessory removal or install like(bike, snowboard rails etc). Additionally, these accessories also look to be weathering quickly because of build quality. Hopefully this helps your decision! Thanks

The selection process that etrailer uses is top-notch. This really helped narrow down the choices for my 2019 RAM Quad cab. I bought this all kitted together. The assembly process is very straightforward and well-documented. I would highly recommend etrailer as a source for vehicle accessories. I have Yakima bike racks on our Subaru and this is as good if not better.

by: Jon08/08/2023

The roof rack continued to get loose and I lost 2 kayaks going down the highway. I was able to recover them after significant damage. The whole rear rack fell off. Once reinstalled I added numerous straps and continued to stop every 50-75 miles to retighten and adjust so it didn’t happen again. I will not be using these roof racks again.

The Rhino system works great the way it is. I'm going camping next week and took the two bars out of the closet and right onto the car. No adjustments were needed. The feet fell right into the roof line where I initially set it up. All I had to do was clamp it down. Last weekend I had the basket up there with two fully loaded RTIC coolers probably pushing 150 pounds with no problems. For this trip I have my Yakima easy load bike racks on the roof. They clamped right onto the Rhino bars and they're in a much better position for loading and unloading than my last truck.

I'm very happy with the product and not expecting anything else. Thanks for following up.

I've had Thule & Yakima products over the years, with no issues. But I'm really glad I ordered this set-up for my 2021 F-150. I think you get just as good of a product from Rhino, maybe even better, for a slightly lower price. Everything feels sturdy and well made (with the possible exception of the locking covers, which feel a bit flimsy). I really like this set-up, and the precise measurements and guides made for a perfect snug fit. The rubber strip running on the upper long edge of the bars feels like it will definately help keep accessories from sliding out of place.

by: Michael07/16/2018

The rack was shipped within a day of order and delivered on the expected date. I got email updates with the order confirmation and shipping information. Etrailers provided excellent customer service. The web site allowed me to select the product with confidence that I was getting the right rack for my 2015 Subaru Legacy.

Assembly and installation were easy using the provided instructions. It probably took about 45-60 minutes to complete. I especially liked the measuring strips that Rhino provides. It makes setting the foot width on the bars painless.

I have not used the rack yet, but it's a solid mount and I do not expect any difficulties. It also looks good on the car.

I purposely left the cover plates off in the pictures so the clamp mechanism was visible.

Been wanting to get a roof rack for my small Honda H-RV suv for some time now. Finally decided to pull the trigger on one and opted for this Rhino rack system.
Watching the etrailer install video and following the manufacturer's instruction, the front rack went on easily and perfectly. However, the rear track turned out to be a very long process. Why? Because I thought the manufacturer's measurements for the rear was an error. After the rack was assembled, it didn't seat into the roof channel at all. It appeared to be well short. So, I proceeded to use my mechanical ingenuity to get this rack to fit on my own. After a lengthy span of time and numerous adjustments, I'd come to realize that the manufacturer's measurements were correct. The footing did not sit perfectly until the unit was fully tightened against the vehicle. Live and learn.....once again.
The rack is absolutely solid, and looks very clean and sharp on top of the H-RV. I could not detect any additional noise while driving, even at highway speed.
The main purpose of this roof rack was for transporting my recreational kayak. I was not aware that these bars had a rubber strip running along the entire top of the bar. This turned out to be perfect for the kayak. Now, I didn't need to buy a specific kayak cradle. The kayak, one strapped down, is held absolutely secured to the rack.
I am very happy with this product! Once again, etrailer comes through perfectly with another of my order. Prompt service and indepth product info are the reasons why I shop here!

Purchased a Rhino Rack custom fit rooftop system, along with the kayak rack to hold two kayaks and the Swagman rv bike rack. Made several trips and they all work great! Included photos to share.

by: Robert07/30/2018

The Rhino Rack is very well made. I installed it my self on our 2016 Ford Escape, but had an assist from my wife to fine tune it at the end. There was no whistling or any other distracting wind noise on our 3,500 mile drive to visit family out West. A Sear's Cargo Box was easily mounted to the Rhino Rack and it remained centered and secured at western highway speed limits plus. The included locks on the roof mounts were the selling point for me. The Rhino Rack remained securely mounted to the roof with no additional adjustments or tightening being needed. Great Product. Donna P. @ etrailer was super with the order.

Shipping was on time and it was the exact product I need for my 25 f150.

This roof rack works great! At first I was skeptical about putting a rack on my IS250, but it couldn't have turned out better. Paired with the Yakima Highroad, I can easily transport my bikes around without worrying about anything coming loose while driving. The installation instructions for the legs and bars are pretty straightforward. Takes about 30-45 minutes total to install.

These replacement legs for my Rhino Rack are really great. They are a big improvement over the original legs. The fit is much tighter and secure. very happy with this product.

We originally got this rack system (Custom DK Fit Kit for 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs - Naked Roof Item #DK427) mostly for our Kayak racks on our 2015 Ford F-150, which worked great. Then we totaled our F-150 and the racks actually fit on our new 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 HD P/U. We took it on a 16,000 mile trip from the East Coast to Alaska with both 12 ft. kayaks on the top. Through the various speeds (sometimes up to 80 mph), weather conditions, and the high crosswinds of the mid-West, the racks help up perfectly. No issues or problems. I would recommend these to anyone.

by: Jeff12/08/2025

It is crazy that larger bars like the 59" won't fit my car. When buying racks, the issue has always been that you can't go too small. But these have a 36" long metal obstruction in the bottom T bracket and so it limits how much the towers can come together. Get Malone, they are less expensive, have broader fit range, can handle longer bars and have an integrate lock.

by: Michael05/16/2024

Got this for a 2015 Prius. High quality works great. Use their measurements included as a guide and measure everything out yourself before cutting the spacers and when installing. I had to make minor adjustments to make it perfect.

I needed roof racks on my 2023 Silverado to accommodate the shape of my canoe. I had Yakima racks on the camper shell but the canoe was hitting the top of my truck. My Rhino racks showed up yesterday evening and I’m ready to go this morning!

It’s now been a year and I have used my racks several times. They are easy to put on and take off and I’ve had no problems. My only complaint is the rubber along the top of the rack keeps cramming down into the slot.

by: Rich08/26/2022

Look how nice my crossbars look? I ordered these and paid extra for expedited shipping so that I could have them to put a luggage carrier on my roof. The legs for the crossbars never showed up and the crossbars came late as well. I ran out and got a trailer hitch basket for extra storage. Tack on an extra $[XX] in addition to the extra $$ for fast shipping and I'm $[XX] into these crossbars that I couldn't use for their intended purpose. I called early enough that the company could have overnighted the legs but they just kept blaming UPS. Very disappointed.

by: James08/24/2018

Excellent price and quick shipping. Excellent support for missing bar end cap. Rack was easy to put together and install and video was helpful. My only complaint is when trying to tie down kayak to cradle it is not easy to keep the loop over the top of the upright "U" shaped bar, it keeps siding down. We wrapped two pieces of foam around the bar to create a channel to hold the strap now it is easy.

by: Colby P.03/21/2018

The racks fit perfectly! They are a great fit to my car. They don’t interfere with the sunroof’s operation. I assembled it on my own with no difficulty. It was easy to assemble. The directions it provides to you are easy to follow. The only down side was getting the plastic pieces to lock on the ends of the bars. Other than that they are great and they look great on my car! I plan to use them to transport kayaks! They are very sturdy and very trust worthy for transporting a couple of kayaks. I recommend these racks to anyone who has a 2016 or 2017 Nissan Altima!

by: Mark08/19/2019

etrailer.com's videos and additional customer support made the purchase of a Rhino Rack system from them for our 2010 Malibu a no brainer. The rack fit the car perfectly, and with the videos and clear instructions that came with the kit, I got it installed on the car with only one misstep. The instructions came the the measurements in centimeters and inches. I didn't have a metric tape measure, and ended up messing up converting fractions to decimal.
My Daughter is going to college 500 miles away and is moving into an unfurnished apartment and needed to pick up some small furniture that wouldn't fit in her Malibu. She purchased several items from Facebook Marketplace and was able to transport a twin bed and mattress, a medium sized desk and some dining room chairs (in several trips) with no problems.
The only thing I can think of to improve the installation would be to have the Inches measurements in decimal or to include an inexpensive metric tape.

Bought this rack to carry canoe, etc. while towing our camper. Installation is easy with one person so long as you take your time to get the original setup meticulously correct. If you're planning to put it on only occasionally when you're using it, it's 10 to 15 minutes for one person to install once the original setup is done and the clamp points marked with the little unobtrusive stickers they send with the kit. Originally planned to put it on only when using because we only really need it a couple times a year (we just throw the canoe in the back for local trips). Looks good enough we might leave it on all the time. Even thought I didn't know I needed it until I was already at the store, it certainly came in handy bringing home a 10 foot long 2x8 on a rainy day when I needed to keep the bed cover closed. etrailer's service was prompt and flawless as always.
