Question:

I have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 69.3in tall. I would like to install an Inno Wedge roof box 9.6in higher than the cross rails. I need to purchase crossbars for this. What is the height of the crossbars over the roof when theyre installed? I would imagine its 3-4in. My garage door is 7ft 84in, so I need a set of crossbars less than 5in for this setup to fit in my garage. I have the black and chrome flush rails installed.

When determining the height of the crossbars over your roof, it truly depends on what system you plan on using on your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with black and chrome flush rails. From your recent searches, it looks like you were looking at the following setup:

With this specific system, I can be confident that the height of the crossbar will be just under 4 inches from the top of your roof to the top surface of the crossbar. This is because we have installed this exact setup on a 2021 Model Jeep Cherokee. I attached a video of this specific roof rack on a 2021 model. Note that the height from the roof to the bottom surface of the crossbar is 2-3/4 inches. Factoring in the 1-3/16" width of the crossbar itself, that leaves us with a total height of 3-15/16 inches.

As far as the Inno Wedge you were looking at (the Inno Wedge 660 # INBRM660BK), this has an exterior height of 11 inches tall. Here is the total of height factors that we know:

- 69.3 inches of height of your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit
- 4 inches of height to the surface of your crossbar
