Features to know about

More Control on the Road: Rear Bar Cuts Sway and Roll

Few things are more frustrating than feeling your rig rock side to side when a gust of wind hits or a truck passes by. The 1-1/2" diameter Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar ties the rear axle to the frame to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. Made of thick 4140 chromoly steel, it resists sway nearly 30 percent better than standard bars. The result is tighter handling, steadier tracking, and a more confident feel behind the wheel.

Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar installed on vehicle rear axle showing attachment points and stabilizing hardware

Steadier Handling Through Turns: Balanced Weight Transfer

Sharp turns and uneven pavement won’t throw you around when the rear of your vehicle stays level. This setup braces the frame against the axle to keep movement predictable. The bar works like a link between the two, taking the pressure off one side when weight shifts in a corner or on an incline. That means smoother cornering and fewer corrections when maneuvering through traffic or winding roads.

Less Fatigue on Long Drives: Stable, Predictable Ride

White-knuckling the wheel through wind and passing semis doesn’t have to be part of the trip. By minimizing sway and side-to-side motion, the bar keeps your path steady and reduces the effort it takes to stay in your lane. You’ll feel more relaxed and in control, even after long stretches on the highway.

Built to Last: 4140 Chromoly Steel and Polyurethane Bushings

This isn’t a light-duty setup. The bar’s 4140 chromoly construction is harder and stronger than the 1020 steel used in most factory systems. Polyurethane bushings resist oil, gasoline, and ozone, so they don’t squish out or deteriorate like rubber. That means less give, more consistent support, and a system that keeps performing mile after mile.

Straightforward Install: Heavy-Gauge Hardware and No Drilling Required

No need to cut or weld anything to get the handling improvement you’re after. The kit includes heavy-gauge mounting hardware, easy-to-follow instructions, and bushing lubricant for clean, bolt-on mounting. It’s engineered to fit with most popular aftermarket suspension accessories, so upgrades like airbags or helper springs can still be used without interference.

Ordered front and back and steering stabilizer, the anti- sway bars were delivered and I had them installed, the steering stabilizer still has not arrived ordered in March.

Anti sway bars have been on over a year still believe was a great investment holds you steady. As for steering stabilizer that one was never shipped from roadmaster. Went with safe t plus and very happy with it.

by:

Bottom line - Yes its worth it.
Installed
on 2018 THOR/Axis 25.5

Night and Day driving.
Local shop in Maryland installed for me.
(I had already packed my tools/jacks for moving south).
Their mechanic was impressed with the size over the OEM.

On a related note, got the rear set up as well and running Sumo Springs.

Does Not fit My 2022 Ford e450 Thor Chateau 27R was told by Etrailer it would fit brackets for slide on drivers side in the way

by:

1000 times better than OEM!!!!!

by:

Great product. Excellent quality

by:

The order shipped fast and was as stated. I will follow up on performance once the sway bars are installed. Can’t wait to try them out. They were much bigger than stock and I am hopeful this will translate into a better driving experience. Thanks for the fast response and guidance on what parts I needed to order. etrailer is awesome. Thanks again

by:

It took over 7 hours to complete the instead 1 hour. I was frustrated due to The bracket around bushing too wide, it doesn’t align with the hole from factory. I had to go to machine shop 2 times to size the hole to align with the factory bolts. The sway bar is too close to rear wheel axle.

by:

Great quality heavy duty seay bar will help in high winds and keep our motor home going straight down the road

by:

Wow what a difference thank you so much for fast shipping and having a video instruction on your website makes a ton of difference. It took me about two hours yesterday to install and thanks to the Video. No modification needed just to drill two holes took it out and felt the difference right away.

Wow, I can only imagine how nice that must be! Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Any travel plans for the winter?

by:

This item has made a huge difference with the drivability of our RV. Highly recommended.

by:

This was a really great product to add to my Class C RV. I have a 2015 Coachmen Leprechaun 319DS (31ft). It made a difference in me driving more comfortably, especially at highway speeds when semis pass by. I don't get knocked around as much anymore. Also turning feels much stiffer. I added all 3 upgrades (front/rear sway) and the steering stabilizer. It is pricey, but well worth it.

by:

Did not fit our 2014 Sunseeker with air bags. It contacts the rear differential. We contacted etrailer and right away they emailed us a label to return the item, and placed an order for a Hellwig anti sway bar which fit perfectly. They're customer support is top notch.

by:

Upgrade almost complete on my E450 Quantum LF31. Not hard to install the items. Only have the rear sway bar next month and upgrade will be complete. I also have air bags on the back which helped with the weigh transfer on the unit.

by:

The sway bar was easy to install but did require two new holes through the frame. The location of the holes was easily accessed through the wheel well without removing the tire. The sway was reduced significantly after installation.

by:

I have had these anti-sway bars for around one year. The installation by etrailer was great and the bars work fine. No question that they helped to reduce the impact of trucks blowing by my RV and pushing me off to the side. Glad I purchased them.

All is good. Pleased with the installation and how well they have improved my safety while driving.

by:

Product arrived quickly as usual with etrailer. The etrailer video was more handy than the accompanying instructions from Roadmaster. etrailer provided videos for both the early E450 and the later chassis installations. While essentially the same, there was a small difference of enlarging an existing hole on the early frame in my case a 2006 and having to measure to locate the hole on the later. It would be nice if Roadmaster included a parts diagram to help with assembly instead of small not clear pictures. I thought the parts package was short two half inch washers, I supplied them from my stock. The fittings on the Roadmaster bar are much heavier than the stock components. Installation is on a 2007 Coach House, motorhome. Took it for a test drive, big difference in handling.

by:

Solid-built sway bar. Helps stabilize in wind while driving. Using on 2016 Thor Vegas 25.3 RV, notorious for suspension and driving issues. Using front anti-sway bar as well with Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer.

by:

Fairly easy install. Drilling the hole in the frame was decent started with a 17/64 pilot hole then the 17/32 final hole. Take your time and let the drill do the work.
Do be aware of the hole placement on the drivers side as there are brake lines and wiring there.

Works better than expected. The rear sway bar on my 2017 F 450 made more difference than any other modification I made.

by:

Easy installation and made a huge difference in the sway and body roll on mt 2019 Thor Motorhome. Wish I would have done it earlier.

by:

This anti sway bar is great. High quality components, easy to install and performs great. Just wish it was designed to use the existing threaded frame holes? Even easier to install (don't have to drill new holes) and it would be a stronger joint.

by:

I recently purchased a 2011 Itasca Cambria 28 with only 10,500 miles. Our first trip made it clear that I needed to stiffen the chassis. Unfortunately Roadmaster Anti-sway bars are backordered, and though you should put those on first, I just installed the Steering Dampener. Easy installation though you need to be careful about seating the bushings. The videos are much better than the printed instructions. Already see a big difference in how much tighter the steering is. Can't wait for the bars to arrive. Disappointed to have to wait 4 weeks.

One year later, we have put over 22,000 miles on our rig, and added new tires. The ride is so amazingly better than without the steering stabilizer, and especially the anti sway bars. These additions are absolutely worth the time and money. I would strongly recommend them. You won’t regret it.

by:

I had a helwig system factory installed on my class C when i bought it in 2020. It was ok as i did not know any better. After 6 years of traveling there was a lot of sway and sagging. So i upgraded to this heavy duty Roadmaster system. What a major difference. the RV rides much more steady and smoothly, and i like it. I think the hellwig that was factory installed was the cheapest system they could find, so they could put the name on. I like Roadmaster equipment much better. Working with Roadmaster and E-trailer makes purchasing, installation and tech support much easier.

  • Best Suspension Enhancement & Steering Stabilizer For 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U
Hi Jeff, I can give you a hand here with suspension upgrades for your 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U, though honestly I'd go a different route than the Timbrens # TFEF350 and # TFERSD you mentioned. They'll do their job, but my goodness they can be quite rough on the ride. They are made from a very dense hollow rubber so there just isn't much "give" there and you'll feel it. The better option is definitely SumoSprings because they'll compress based on the weight being transferred so it isn't...

  • Comparing Roadmaster and Hellwig Sway Bars for Motorhome Built on E-450 Chassis
Roadmasters priority when it comes to their sway bars is top notch quality and the easiest install for the customer. This typically cuts the install time down enough that you end up saving money if you pay to have the bars installed or decide to do it yourself. Hellwig bars will work great once installed but they aren't as easy to install and their hardware isn't quite as nice so over the long haul you pay less with the Roadmaster bars. The rear bar you'd need for your 2014 Motorhome...
