Can RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector RS54FR Replace Safe-T-Alert Carbon Monoxide Detector

Question:

Unable to locate a safe t alert surface mount carbon monoxide detector for our 2016 FleetwoodDiscovery . We have currently a 65 seriews 541 blk model. Will your RS54FR fit the current ceiling mount or is it too small?

Hello Joyce, thanks for reaching out. The RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS54FR can be used to replace virtually any model or brand of detector. I do not know the exact size of your Safe-T-Alert detector, but I can tell you the # RS54FR detector comes with two bracket sizes to fit most any application. The small bracket is 5-3/4" long x 4-1/4" wide with 5-1/4" mounting hole spacing. The large bracket is 7-1/4" long x 3-3/8" wide with 6" mounting hole spacing. You can compare these dimensions to your current detector to see how it matches up. I have heard of lots of people using this to replace Safe-T-Alert detectors so it should work great. It has a 5 year lifespan which it standard for detectors.

Just keep in mind if you install this on the ceiling, you will need a separate detector for propane also. The propane detectors must be placed no more than 18" off the ground.
