Video Transcript for Furrion RV Camera - Observation Camera - FOS07TASF Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at a Furrion RV observation camera system with the included monitor and actual camera. This wireless observation system simply lets you see behind your RV and helps minimize blind spots. It includes the monitor, camera, with the necessary bracket and hardware for installation. It comes with a interior cable stand and it comes with a windshield mount for the monitor. You also get your mounting gasket for the camera brackets and cable ties to secure any excess or slack in the wiring and you get your hardware kit for installation. Now, this system is simply designed to increase overall safety and help prevent accidents. It features a built-in digital transmitter, which eliminates interference from other devices.

This is a wireless system, so simply, what that means is the way that the camera and the monitor communicate to one another is wireless. It offers high quality uninterrupted video. We also have smart technologies to ensure that the system works whenever you want it to, so we have Climate Smart, which keeps it running in even the most extreme climates and Vibration Smart technology, which helps the unit resist vibration. This right here is a 7" full-color LCD monitor. Makes it very easy to see what the camera's seeing. So, overall, it's a really nice design.

We have touch screen navigation, so you hit that, you have your grid lines, you can switch between different camera inputs. This will accept up to four camera feeds. One camera's included. The other three are sold separately if you wanna add additional cameras. But, it is touch screen, so you can gain access to the menus, so that way, you can adjust your brightness, color, contrast and image orientation. Mirror image is displayed for precise view from the driver's perspective.

Again, touch screen compatible. And it also features a quad split feature, which displays up to four camera images at the same time. Again, additional cameras are sold separately. The speaker on the back side allows you to hear the audio that's send from your cameras and again, touch screen, you can get in there and adjust your volume as needed. It also has the rear-assist marker lines that help you easily back up your vehicle. We're looking at a nice waterproof camera.

This can be adjusted to different angles for easy viewing. Nice shaded design helps reduce glare. Infrared LEDs on the camera housing provide nighttime vision up to 16 feet, so you can see there even with our lights off, we can still clearly see what's right there on the monitor. We also have a nice, quick response time as well. The motion detect feature warns you of moving obstacles when in reverse. It also has a security auto-wake feature, which automatically turns the monitor on if the camera sends the video signal. We have antennas on the monitor and on the camera, so that's gonna allow the signal transfer longer distances. The one here on the monitor can be folded down and out of the way when it's not being used.Pretty simple and quick installation. You will need to drill a hole for your wiring to pass through. But, it does come with the grommets right here to seal up that hole and to protect your wiring. Basically, you have a power wire that connects right here to the plug on the back of the camera. That's a two-wire design. I already have it hooked up to power. But, you have a red wire for power and then, you have a black wire for ground. You can wire this to use as an observation system or a backup camera. So, you would wire this to a constant power source for observation or to the reverse lights for a backup camera. And then, when it comes to your monitor, you have a power cable here, which plugs into a standard accessory outlet like a cigarette lighter port. And that's how you get your power sent to the monitor. Now, when it comes to the monitor, we're looking at overall measurements of 7 7/16" wide by 4 15/16" tall by 1 3/16" thick. The camera as it's mounted on the bracket has an overall width of 6 3/8" wide, 2 3/8" tall and a depth of 2 5/8". Voltage is 8 volt to 30 volt DC. Wireless frequency is 2.4 gigahertz. Wireless range is up to 492 feet. Pretty good for a wireless system. That's a really long distance. There's no vehicle that's going to be that long, so you should not have to worry about any type of interference when it comes to the wireless signal with this system. When it comes to the resolution on the monitor, that's a 720 by 480 per camera view. Resolution for the camera is 720 by 480. The monitor aspect ratio is 16 by 9. Viewing angle on the camera is 120 degrees. Again, you get the monitor with two mounts, you get the table mount, the suction cup mount for the windshield, you get the gasket right here for the mounting pad for your camera and bracket, you get a hardware pack and you get the cable ties to secure any excess or slack in your wiring. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Furrion RV Observation Camera system with monitor.

Excellent camera. I have installed and tested only and it works great - my next trip will determine how well it works when out on the road and will provide an update. 584637

Great product - I’ve been on 6 road trips since installing and I highly recommend this camera!

I am very happy that I bought the Furrion Vision S W RV Back Up Camera System with Night Vision Rear Mount. It makes backing up, seeing what is behind you and what is going to pass you night or day, so much easier and safer, I can't believe I used to do it without it. Excellent purchase! 666644

The system works well. The range is far better than advertised. I’ve been 1/4 mile from my camper and noticed the picture was still being displayed on the screen in the truck. The only complaint I have is that I wish there were more possible adjustments to the picture. It’s hard to drive in bright sunlight without sunglasses, and the picture is sometimes hard to see with sunglasses on. I would still buy it again. It’s very helpful not only parking, but also for lane changes. 725301

Was bought for a gift Christmas of 2018. Was shipped and delivered on schedule/ 586512

I am single and this 7 inch camera will help me while backing my 35 ' 5th whl into camping sights and tight areas. My unit was pre-wired for this camera so, it made the install easier. Once I activated the monitor the pairing was instant. Had to change the local on the pairing from door to rear. My only question is, It suppose to beep if it detects motion while backing. That hasen't happen even when I had someone walk back there. But, I saw them. Happy I have this unit. Thanks e-trailer for your assistance and support. 607946

After some research I purchased this system and couldn't be any more happier! Easy to install , I mounted below the center upper clearance light and wired to that light after I accessed the factory wiring. Instructions were very clear and setup was a breeze. Pairing the camera with additional side camera's was no trouble. The 7" monitor is great and the picture's are very clear ,the sound is great as well from the rear camera. I would highly recommend this product, great quality and ease of installation due to wireless features. 615248

Order Sunday received Wednesday. Fast hookup. Would recommend etailers to anyone 614596

This was my first experience with etrailer and it exceeded my expectations. Your prices and availability of product was what won my order. Your processing of the order was almost immediate and was shipped the same days. You've won me as a regular customer. Again, thank you! 575889

Furrion 7" Wireless camera was an easy installation with power coming from the center rear clearance light using red Posi-Taps. Instructions suggest mounting the camera at least 2" below the clearance lights to prevent 'blooming' effect. Our 5th wheel Glacier Peak had a wooden structural support at 2" so I drilled the power cord hole just above the wooden support which put the camera mount just underneath the LED clearance light. I turned on my truck lights which powered the clearance lights and saw that the wireless camera had a Blue power light. I next plugged the 7" monitor into a 12volt outlet in the cab of my truck and immediately had a picture of the rear of our trailer on the monitor. While checking all the monitor settings I discovered that the initial wireless camera pairing with the monitor was set on camera 1. Camera 1 view did not allow the use of the rear guidelines on the monitor. I did a manual pairing using the small pairing button on top of the monitor and set my camera to the rear camera which is camera 4. Once paired I was able to use the rear guidelines with the rear camera which provided a very clear rear view. The camera is adjustable so I set it at my preferred angle and made sure the wireless antenna was positioned as vertical as possible. So far there has been no signal loss, no blooming effect from the clearance light and all is good. 572470

Great service at etrailer. I have purchased many iteams from them in past Great Company. 590059

Service was GREAT staff was very helpful . Installation was pretty simple. Product works nice. Hope to add side camera later. 625521

Will not install until spring Hopefully it will do what I need Ian was most helpful 722796

Easy install of two side cameras and a backup camera. Total time start to finish about 2 hours. Picture is great and reception is amazing at around 300’. Highly recommend the 7” monitor! Trust me!! Setup took less than 10 minutes to learn the cameras. My only complaint is I’d like more options on the display. Be nice to have three camera or two camera view. Otherwise love it and etrailer is the best! Fast shipping and an email to make sure everything arrived ok and I’m happy... 5stars 612138

I have had the camera for one year and it performs as advertised. I have a 36 ft 5th wheel and with the camera, both myself and my wife, feel very safe changing lanes with clearance of other vehicles. I recommend it for everyone. 749740

No issues with hookup. Good angle of view. Really helps having a backup camera when parking my 25’ camper. 740062

Good quality video. Only thing I don't like is the side cameras are too wide of an angle 732370

The 7" monitor is great as an effective rear view mirror. I look forward to installing the side view cameras, but for now I only have experience with the rear view camera. The camera is great at daylight and serviceable at night (headlights tend to blind the camera a bit). As an unexperienced new owner of a travel trailer, I value the ability to better judge the distance of a car. When a car I passed shows up in the camera, it is definitely behind the trailer... I want yo mention one complication with my VW Touareg, though: As with several modern vehicles, the Touareg has some AC signal modulated onto the 12V for the rear lights. The car uses this signal to identify failing lights. The Furrion cameras cannot handle power that is 'contaminated' with such modulation. Therefore I had to modify the electric system of the trailer. I am feeding the rear- and position-lights now from the battery of the trailer. I added a weatherproof 12V relay that takes the car's modulated 12V to switch the clean 12V power from the battery. This way I don't accidentally drain the battery and the functionality is as intended. Well, I guess the Touareg cannot detect a broken bulb on the trailer any longer... 730436

Good camera for the price, but GREAT customer service! Answered all of my questions and beat the expected delivery date. Camera fit as expected, still can’t say enough about the people that assisted me. 652263

Very good product easily installed and good suction cup for windshield, etrailer is the best, easy order questions answered and quick shipping and they stand behind product, could have gotten cheaper, but not worth it when you need customer service like etrailer offers 651844

Lots of help from ETrailer and a real good product from Furrion 641530

I have used E Trailer a few time in the last couple months and very satisfied with the service, speed, and price compared to others. I plan to look at their site for future products. Highly recommend this site for others. 612698

I attached a picture that shows what the different views selection looks like as well as a demo video that covers this as well.
