Today we're going to be taking a look the Yakima locking mount brackets with the SKS cores for the load warrior and mega warrior cargo baskets, part number Y07064. The Yakima locking brackets secure your load warrior or mega warrior to your cross bars and utilize the Yakima same key system for both locks so you can actually match these locks to other Yakima accessories such as your bike racks, ski carriers, or kayak carriers. This comes in a quantity of two locks. You can place one at the front on one side, and be sure when you place the other one it goes on the opposite bar on the opposite side. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the locking bracket, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We'll start off by removing this support bracket here and replacing it with the support bracket from our kit. We'll remove our metal bracket, and take that out.
Here's our new support bracket. This is the portion where the lock's going to go into. I'm going to make sure that that stays towards the outside, so we'll push that in, install our bolts through that like so. Once we have our bolts back through, we'll put our metal bracket back on top as well. And then we'll secure it to our cross bar. Once it's tightened down all the way, our final step is to take our locking bracket portion, making sure it's in the unlock position, and taking these two points here, matching them up with our turn knobs.
We push those down until it goes all the way through. We can lock it into place, and now it's secure. The next bracket we're going to install, make sure you put it on the opposite bar on the opposite side and then your mega warrior is secure to your roof. There you have it for the Yakima locking mount brackets with the SKS lock cores for the load warrior and mega warrior, part number Y07064.

Unquestionably, this is a great addition to secure the cargo box against theft. It installed easily and with little effort (the e-Trailer vid was fantastic). My only reason for the 4 star rating is the price. Even discounted by e-Trailer, the cost is almost silly...as set by Yakima, as you really use half of the parts that already come with the cargo box. But overall....a good product that completes the "package". Especially amortized over the life of car ownership.
Well I hope these deter a thief. I do not want my Yakima basket stolen So I got two of these. The other two are non locking brackets that came with the basket. The instructions state to use non-water soluble lubrication on screws so I used a bit of Equal-i-zer.
Excellent service, excellent product. Was delivered on time as described. - I purchased these with my order of the EXO swing base with gear basket. My hunch is it’s the same basket as the Yakima skinny roof rack, so I can have the flexibility of using the basket on the swing base or the roof top.

One year later… I was correct, the rack is basically the same as the skinny roof rack. Only thing is that I missed THIS IS NOT the roof rack mounting hardware. It’s just a plan it locker that adapts over the locking hardware. Just make sure you already have the mounting hardware, or go purchase that along with the lockers. Otherwise this worked really well.
Does not fit and I'm being charged to ship it back to this company. Says no questions asked within 60 days and yet the rep asked me to provide pictures or they will charge me shipping - what a crock
Great product! My 2004 Scion loves it. I love this car having sold my truck to buy it. Now I can carry almost as much stuff as I could in the truck.

Still love it after a year.
I order the product based on the picture on the web. It was supposed n backprder so when i finally received it it was the wrong part and the picture on the websie was changed. I never used the part and ended up purchasing the parts feom a different vendor.
This is not a full clamp. Yakima is out of the basket hold down clamps and pointed me here to these. I’m sure these are great, but they do not replace the stock clamp, they just go over it.

Yakima Locking Brackets: 1 star—I’ve spent thousands of dollars on Yakima racks and accessories over thirty years and this flimsy piece of junk is among the worst security implementations I’ve ever seen. First, it’s a piece of plastic that caps the bracket. At best, it’s a deterrent. Any idiot with even a little ingenuity could pry this off within a minute. Second, it does nothing to secure the bottom half of the basket clamp leaving the bottom piece of plastic and bolts exposed. Finally, it’s unbelievably expensive for security that should come standard with a $[XX]+ dollar basket. Again, this is ALL Yakima. They set the retail price and produce the part … etrailer is fantastic—superb service and fast shipping.
I don't like that these locks cause the surface of the rack to be uneven. For example, if you were to lay a board across the bottom of the rack, the two corners with the locks would be higher than the two without locks. Older Yakima locking mechanisms were of a better design. I now have to mount my rotopax fuel tank forward of these locks so it will sit level. Not the greatest, but they do their job.
This did not fit as a converter for my 10+-year old Yakima basket to new aero bars on my Subaru Crosstrek. Otherwise, it seems well built and I used the locking version on the new basket I eventually purchased.
Bought this for a Yakima Skinny Warrior basket. The fit is good and works as promoted. My concern is it is made with plastic and the lock only latches to a relatively thin piece of plastic. Wouldn’t take much to break it all. Yakima’s roof baskets are well made but all their connection pieces are plastic making security for these in the city or trailheads somewhat dubious.
No issues with said equipment only complaint is I think Yakima is a bit expensive for any of their products but they are good quality produts.
Good product and easy installation. The picture is a little deceiving because it looks like a complete install part, but it is just the lock. Otherwise, good product.

The MegaWarrior is a great Roof Rack. The only thing I didn’t like was the fit to the roof rails. My rails that I purchased from you are shaped like aircraft wings and the basket clamps seem to be designed for round rails. However I was able to complete the attachment and the rack remained secure for a 2,000 mile trip.
