Each foot mounts along 2 of the basket's front to back rails so no alternate hardware will fit. But take a look at the Thule Canyon XT # TH859XT. It uses just the U-Bolts so there is more space between the bottom of the roof rack rails and the top of the vehicle roof so you should have plenty of room for your sunroof.
