Hi neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the Aero Crossbar Fit Kit for the Rhino-Rack steel mesh baskets and steel mesh trays. Now these do mount your Rhino-Rack steel mesh basket or tray to the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero roof rack crossbars. Now they can be used on most other aero, elliptical, and factory crossbars up to 3-7/8 inches in diameter. Now I will put all the item numbers that this works with on the screen as well where you can come back and see it later if you need to pause it or something. Now you're gonna get all four U-bolts, all the brackets that are steel powder coated, black color, all the washers, all the plastic knobs with the retainer thread inside.
I went ahead and put one together here just so you can see it in action. Pretty simple. As far as some dimensions on that guy, you got 4 inches side to side and 2-1/2 inches tall, roughly, whenever it's threaded all the way down. Nice three-year warranty on the parts here today, folks. And again, it's an Aero Crossbar Fit Kit for the Rhino-Rack steel mesh baskets or the steel mesh trays.

After getting no help at all from Thule for replacing the Thule mounts I had misplaced or accidentally throwed away when I did a basement clean out, I turned to Rhino for an answer. They returned my email in less than a day and I ordered these. I have to say I have only had these on for a couple days but boy am I pleased. So much easier to install the basket and they reduce the overall height of the basket above the roof. No more noticeable wind noise as the other mounting option and maybe even a little less. Haven't had them at highway speeds yet but don't anticipate a problem. Had these installed on my Rhino Aero bars in less than ten minutes and will be a lot easier to remove. So far I would give these a rating of excellent! These install my basket rock solid and there is no way you could tear them off of my crossbars. I do recommend checking the screw attachments periodically and it would have been a good idea to include lock washers along with the flat washers that the knobs screw onto. No biggie, have a hardware store 2 minutes from my house.

Product is exactly as described, and quality appears solid upon initial inspection. Fit was accurate as well. This helped me mount a Thule box with 4 inch hole spacing onto a 2008 Mini Cooper with the factory no-drill chanel mounted roof rack. I required this style to account for the thicker aero style bars.
I would recommend using a foam tape on the metal pcs to keep from marring rack or box but not mandatory.

I bought this set of clamps to retrofit my Thule Adventurer for my Aeroblade bars. Thule has no fix for this problem. Rhino Racks also had no fix as the S280 clamp set had been discontinued, however they gave me the URL for Etrailer.com and told me that they had a generous supply in inventory. I went to Etrailer.com and found them there. The purchase was easy. I did have to call them because it was not clear how shipping (post or UPS) was handled. (I have a post box at the local post office and a different physical address, SO THIS MATTERS!). Delivery was prompt and solved my problem.

Honestly, the tray is just your basic Rhino mesh tray, so we all know the quality is going to be top notch and the product will be as advertised. That said, etrailer.com let me know immediately after ordering that they didn't have it in stock at their main warehouse, that they were doing everything they could to locate one for me with one of their partners, and that it would ship asap, but separately from the mounting hardware I ordered along with it. Turns out the hardware arrived right on time, whereas the tray showed up a day early. George from etrailer kept me updated via email the whole time. Amazing customer service guys! Highly recommend!
