These bars give you the extra room to bring all your gear. The 50" crossbars stretch across the roof, offering plenty of space for channel-mount and clamp-on accessories. Whether it’s a cargo box for a road trip or paddle gear for the weekend, the full bar length means you’re not fighting for space. The aluminum construction keeps things lightweight but strong, supporting up to 165 lbs when properly loaded.
Driving with bars on the roof can get noisy, but these are built to cut that down. The aero-style design guides air smoothly over the bars, while the rubberized dual strips in the top channels help reduce drag and wind noise. You’ll notice a calmer ride on highways and open roads without needing to rig up noise fixes yourself.
When you’ve got gear on top, you want it to stay put. The SX legs clamp firmly to raised rails, and lockable cover plates secure the rack to your vehicle. With everything tightened and locked, you can load up kayaks, bikes, or cargo boxes knowing your setup stays where it should.
No matter what kind of adventure you’re heading out for, these bars handle it. They’re compatible with most bike racks, watersport mounts, snow carriers, and cargo setups that fit in the top channels or wrap around the bars. You can use the same rack year-round—kayaks in summer, skis in winter—without swapping systems.
The aluminum build resists corrosion and stands up to years of weather exposure. It’s solid enough for long drives loaded down with gear but still easy to handle during install or removal. Backed by a 5-year warranty, it’s a setup made to last through countless trips and seasons of use.

Today we're gonna take a look at the Rhino-Rack Sportz Roof Rack and see how well it fits on our 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan. Now, adding a roof rack to your vehicle is gonna help solve the problem that most Tiguan owners are gonna run into, having limited cargo space. You can take advantage of the negative space on top of your vehicle and get those bigger, bulkier, and sometimes dirty items out on the road. So, let's take a closer look and see how we install it and see what it's made of. What sticks out most on this setup is the fact that it has this nice, low profile and the flat top on here so you can get a nice, easy, even installation. You also have ridges on the top that are gonna help with the drag that you experience going down the road to reduce wind noise.
Also, you can take a look. You have a channel right here that's gonna allow you to use all the Zwiflock accessories and you'll be able to twist them in for easy setup. Now as far as the towers themselves, those guys are made of a all-weather polymer that's designed to deal with the hottest temperatures, coldest temperatures, no matter where you are, very similar to the same types of polymers they use on your vehicle. So you don't have to worry about that. And I also love the way that it seals around your raised rail, so it's gonna help reduce that wind noise even better.
Now as far as the clearance on this guy, even if you have a moon roof, you should be just fine as far as opening it, but you never want to have it open while it's loaded. Now, set up's super easy. You have everything in the box. Only thing you need is a tape measure. Lemme show you how to get it done.
Rhino-Rack got you set up super easy to get this put together. You're gonna start with removing your end cap here. It just pops right off, so you're not gonna need a tool for that. And you're gonna have this measuring strip that's on the inside. Now you can actually cut this to size for when you're gonna permanently install it.
I'm just gonna kick it to the side 'cause we're just doing this as a demonstration. Don't forget you tape measure. You're gonna keep that handy. And we're just gonna slide this guy right onto the inside of the track. You can see that rectangle space in there. That's where it's gonna slide into. Here we go. Just wanna make sure that's separated there. Might wanna push it back if it's not catching, well if it is catching. And here you go. We're gonna throw that one in here and we're gonna do the same over here, just making sure that we have that same alignment. And now, we're just gonna take our tape measure and make sure we have the appropriate width for the front and rear. Just keep in mind it's gonna have different sizes. And get my tower wrapped around my raised rail and then just position it, kind of eyeball it where I want it. I'm gonna come back with my tape measure, make sure I'm at the crossbar spread that I want, make sure I'm even on my bars on both sides, and then we'll fasten it down with our included tool. So you want to definitely make sure that you're going back and forth before you completely tighten it down, 'cause it tends to pull from one side or the other. So just do that before you get full torque on it. (plastic snapping) Yeah, now we're good to go. Don't have to worry about over-tightening. And we'll just slide our end cap on. Now we're ready to roll. Nice and secure. Rhino-Rack does a great job of creating a product that's easy to use and super rugged for heavy-duty use every day. Once you get this guy installed and you put it to work, I would love to know what you think about it. Tell me what you think because I love having that interaction with you. Now again, this is Ed with etrailer.com taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Sportz Roof Rack on our 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan. Have a great day.
