Is there any quality difference between Rhino crossbar racks and Thule? Im not terribly worried about spending a little extra for Thule if they are better quality. Any warranty difference? Ease of use? etc. Thanks,

Rhino Rack is right on par with the quality of Thule. I would not say one is better made than the other at all. The advantage Thule has is more replacement part support than Rhino Rack, but that's not usually an issue with the roof racks. Ease of install is the same too so the Rhino Rack is the route I recommend the most.
So for your 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack with raised rails I recommend the Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2 and # RRSX022 and you'd be set with an easy to use roof rack that is very high quality and not quite as expensive.
