Question:

Hi. I have a 2017 jeep Cherokee and a 2017 vw sportwagon. I was wondering if there is any roof rack crossbar that would be interchangeable between both vehicles. The crossbars would be primarily supporting a Thule cargo box. Thanks for the help.

I am happy to check for a common roof rack fit for your two vehicles, the 2017 Jeep Cherokee and the 2017 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen. All roof racks we offer for each vehicle are shown on the two linked pages.

If the Cherokee has factory roof rails that run front-to-back you could use one set of Rhino-Rack bars, 49-inch Vortex Aero bars # RRVA126B-2, on both vehicles. On the Cherokee the bars will install using SX Leg Kit # RRSX100 and on the VW you can use Leg Kit # RRSX022.

The Rhino-Rack Vortex bars offer a clean factory-like appearance and they generate much less wind noise than other bar types. Videos are linked showing installations on a Cherokee and a VW.
