Recommended Roof Rack And Kayak Loading System For 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan for Single Person Loading

Question:

I have a 2014 VW Tiguan with two parallel lengthwise racks. Would your rack fit this SUV? If so, can I remove your rack if not kayaking for a while for whatever reason. The kayak is a 12foot Wilderness Pungo model weighing close to 50 lbs. Im in my late 70s and rarely get loading/unloading assistance, so your product looks attractive

For your 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan, it sounds like you have the factory raised rack, but not the crossbars. If you don't already have a complete roof rack, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 46" Long - Qty 2, # RRVA118B-2, which are aerodynamic aluminum crossbars that have the channels for mounting accessories. These crossbars attach to your factory side rails using the Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Raised Factory Side Rails - Qty 4, # RRSX022. This rack is a custom fit for your vehicle.

With this roof rack, I recommend the Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier and Load Assist w/ Tie-Downs - Rear Loading - Clamp On # MPG113MD. This system has a load assist to help you more easily load the kayak from the back of your vehicle. I've attached a video of this product to assist.

The kayak loader and the roof rack itself are easy to remove seasonally.
