How wide a cross rail will the Universal clamp for this rack accommodate? Will the rack fit a 2022 VW Taos equipped with cross rails? Thank you.

The Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier # RR573 will fit crossbars up to 3-1/2 inches wide.
It will fit your 2022 Volkswagen Taos so long as you have a roof rack system with crossbars up to that width; if you just have the raised side rails and no roof rack with crossbars you will need to add a rack with the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2 and Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs # RRSX022.
