Hello neighbors, Steve here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at a replacement upper claw base with the brass nut for your Yakima rail grab roof rack towers. So folks, this simply replaces one, quantity one, lost or damaged upper claw base for the Yakima rail grab roof rack towers. Now, it does work with three different models. I'll put those item numbers up on the screen for you. This holds the claw in place in the tower itself.

You're gonna get the brass nut there that goes with it. It's square shaped. It is threaded as well. And it's quantity one. And this is, again, a direct replacement from Yakima, so you can be sure it's gonna work with those item numbers I put on the screen.

Yakima website is a bit confusing when it comes to parts in general and especially when it comes to parts for discontinued items. Not so with etrailer. Repair parts for my early rack towers were easy to find and quickly in my hands. Great site with great customer service.

Took the rack and rest of the family trekking vehicle up to Newfoundland and the Nova Scotia for a 3700 five week family walk about and the rack took care of the luggage box and two kayaks. Works like a charm!

It sounds like you are describing the screw that comes with the Replacement Wedge Assembly # Y8880150. The screw only comes with this kit. The only other possibility is # Y8880148 which are the adjustment knobs for RailGrab towers.

Yakima Railgrab Tower Replacement Adjustment Knobs
While the Yakima Railgrab roof racks are being phased out and not what Yakima currently recommends for your 2016 Mazda CX-5 I was able to determine that they were the correct fit for your 2016 Mazda CX-5 with raised rails. The replacement kit that includes the screw is the # Y8880150. If you need the adjustment knobs instead you'd want the # Y8880148 which I believe is what you meant since you mentioned a black knob.

The Yakima RailGrabs, which replaced the LowRider line of towers, and is now itself discontinued, did not have any changes to the hardware over its life span so # Y8880279 will fit your RailGrab towers.
