Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement lid support for the Yakima cargo boxes. Now this part here we'll replace one of the lid supports on your Yakima cargo box, and it'll work on the front and rear of the Yakima ShowCase which is part number Y07328 and Y07329. This will also work on the front of the Yakima Sky Box, part numbers Y07336 and Y07337, and also on the rear of the Yakima RocketBox, part number Y07193. This is for a quantity of one replacement lid support, and you can see that it does hop open like that when you open the lid.
And then when you go to close it, you just push it. It's got some strong tension on it to close it. It does come with the replacement lid support and the mounting hardware to install it, but again the tops open that way and then close it that way. But that should do it for the review on the replacement lid support for the Yakima cargo boxes.

These were hard to find, however etrailer was there for the rescue! The parts were easy to install after replacing the old scissor style hinges
Fits the older Yakima cargo box. Glad I saved the $ and bought this instead of a new box.
Works great, good replacement for the original failed part. Seems like it may not open quite as far as the original, but that part was failing so perhaps it opens just as far as a properly functioning original part.
Perfect upgrade for the OEM hinges.
There is nothing wrong with my 15 year old skybox but after thousands of openings and closings the lid supports were not doing the job as well as they used to. I love that I can get replacement parts to essentially have a new box by replacing the guts without throwing away a perfectly good skybox. The pandemic caused a rush on Yakima parts with even Yakima support telling me to go to etrailer because Yakima restocks it’s resellers before it’s own inventory. Throughout the wait I received plenty of communication and was sent pieces of my rebuild as they came in. Great service and perfect replacement part.
Perfect replacement part for the original, completely faulty supports for older Yakima boxes. Would be great if they were a warranty item from Yakima, since ALL the old ones fail. These do get out-of-stocked because of supply issues, but it’s NO FAULT of etrailer. They’re amazing. Thanks for the customer support etrailer!

This part has been on back order everywhere. I had to wait for several months to get it which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. The part fit my Yakima Rocketbox just perfect, instructions and hardware were included. I'm happy the box now opens and stays open! Etrailer was recommended by the folks at Yakima and they were very responsive and helpful. Thank you.
Worked great and easy to install. A much different part than was originally on the box, but they seemed to work just fine. etrailer was the only ones who could get them to me in a timely fashion as they were backordered. I believe there was a part update at Yakima due to the poor performance of the last hinge and these were tough to get a hold of.
