  The only video we currently have on the DeeZee tailgate assist # DZ43200 is our installation videos on the 2011 and 2013 Ford F-150. To remove it, you can simply pull the shock off of the ball joints. Unfortunately, there isn't a video showing it at this time.

  To replace the ball mount bracket portion of the DeeZee Tailgate Assist # DZ43200 you can use part # BKT43200, which infludes the torx wrench, nutsert tool, and plate. The ball mount is not available by itself. I'm not quite sure why this piece is braking on your setup. I recommend making sure that the ball mount is properly torqued to 8 foot pounds when installing it and that you are using thread lock on the threads to help keep it in place.   No, The DeeZee Tailgate Assist # DZ43200 is not confirmed to fit your 2021 Nissan Frontier. We have no custom lift assists for your vehicle. We do have a universal Hopkins Lift Assist # 74211, but it is not confirmed to fit a 2021 Nissan Frontier. I spoke with Hopkins and they as well could not confirm it to fit a 2021 Nissan Frontier. • How Do You Uninstall the DeeZee Tailgate Assist # DZ43200?
  For getting the shock off of the ball joint of the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Pickup Trucks # DZ43200, I recommend trying to remove the shock when the truck bed is not fully open. This is because there could be some extra tension on the shock when you try to remove it from the ball joint. Around a 45 degree angle should be fine to give you the slack you need. • Installing Clamp on Shock Joint for DeeZee Tailgate Assist on a 2014 Ford F-150
  Are you trying to install the clamp with the ball inside that joint already? If that is the case then it would be very difficult to install the new clamp on the Tailgate Assist # DZ43200 for your 2014 Ford F-150. Instead what you need to do is remove the joint from the ball, install the new clamp, and then pop the joint back over the ball as you can see from the linked installation video.   I spoke with my contact at DeeZee regarding the use of their Tailgate Assist Systems in cold weather. He said that while they haven't officially tested the units in extreme cold, they have yet to hear any feedback from customers with regard to weather-related failure. • Can the DeeZee Tailgate Assist be Used in Extreme Cold Weather
  I spoke with my contact at DeeZee and she informed me that they haven't tested the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate Assist part # DZ43200 at -40 degrees so they can't say for certain if it would work for you, but they (and us) have sold a ton of these and have yet to hear of an issue where cold weather caused a problem, so it would most likely be just fine. Generally that is the amount of turns that gets it tight, but if after 9 turns it is still loose you can continue to tighten it until the insert has expanded enough that it is tight.

  No special tool is needed to remove the # DZ43200 tailgate assist, you'll just need to pull in a slow steady manner and it will pop off. You can try hitting the spot where the shock meets the ball with a spray lubricant and letting it soak for a few minutes before pulling. Or, you could use a # 50 torx to remove the cable bolt which will allow the plate that the ball is attached to to come off.

  I did some research on the DeeZee website and your DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Pickup Trucks, part # DZ43200, will operate more slowly when the temperature drops. I believe this is because the oil becomes less viscous in colder temperatures. Per DeeZee, you should not add any force to your tailgate assist to help it along.   The installation details for the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System # DZ43200 does recommend tightening the insert 9 times, however it is not a requirement. Often it will require more than this for it to be tight enough. I recommend simply continuing to tighten the insert until it has expanded enough for a tight and secure fit.
