Will DeeZee Tailgate Assist Work on 2014 Ford F-150 Platinum with Step in Tailgate

i have a f150 platinum 2014 has the step in the tail gate can i put on the part you recommend DZ43200? does it fit or is the tail gate heavier due to the built in step so it is not recommended for this vehicle.
