Installing Clamp on Shock Joint for DeeZee Tailgate Assist on a 2014 Ford F-150
Updated 05/06/2019 | Published 05/03/2019 >
Question:
Somehow the clamp popped off the ball of the shock which holds the ball onto the ball mount, same as the one on the ball mount plate. I got a new clamp from Dee Zee, but dang if that thing is impossible to put back onto the ball. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to install the clamp with the ball inside that joint already? If that is the case then it would be very difficult to install the new clamp on the Tailgate Assist # DZ43200 for your 2014 Ford F-150.
Instead what you need to do is remove the joint from the ball, install the new clamp, and then pop the joint back over the ball as you can see from the linked installation video.
If this doesn't work for you just let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.
