Can the DeeZee Tailgate Assist be Used in Extreme Cold Weather

Question:
how does the DeeZee Tailgate Assist work with cold climates ? ie we can hit -40F in some months .. will the lift system work in that weather ? for a 2005 F150

I spoke with my contact at DeeZee and she informed me that they haven't tested the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate Assist part # DZ43200 at -40 degrees so they can't say for certain if it would work for you, but they (and us) have sold a ton of these and have yet to hear of an issue where cold weather caused a problem, so it would most likely be just fine.
